Hold on one sec... Had to make the thread from my phone since we cant view the main forums from work...
I've seen these puppys on the road and I've talked to the cops who drive them the green one actually pulled in from of me going about 60 down a 40
Awesome! (for the cops, anyway) What was it, Hot Fuzz (movie) where they had a Subaru police car at the end doing a little awd driftin.
Those are pretty cool. The fact that the are putting snows on them in the winter means they are serious! I wonder if they are hiring?
These are cool and all, but I would be pissed off that my tax dollars went to everything I highlighted. It doesn't need any of those things, and all the suspension stuff is questionable.
That's my point. Every state, and city is crying we don't have enough money to do the things we need to do, so we better raise taxes, and they went and did this. I think it's a special knob.
Since we (all americans) own part of GM now through the intervention of the government, why aren't they buying GM cars with our tax dollars for government use?
Because they don't have a good police platform anymore. Police truck? NO WAY would I want to pay tax dollars on that fuel.
:ugh: I agree. waste of money. But cool. especially with the lights blocking airflow to the intercooler
I think Subaru just loaned them the vehicles for cheap/free for promotional purposes. Go search nasioc for more info.
cool cop cars. i always thought a cop car has so much gadgets and stuff to press that they wouldnt have time to shift the 6spd.
I'm happy for the safety of everyone on the road that these cars come equipped with a four wheel alignment. Imagine if only two of the wheels were pointing the right direction how dangerous it would be for everyone on the road.
Cars were donated by SOA Great Lakes Region, Which is located in Itasca. The picture involving the fountain is taken at the Great Lakes Region HQ. http://jalopnik.com/5069115/subaru-ups-law-enforcement-street-cred-with-sti-police-car Bob
Eli, lots of trucks/SUV's are police vehicles. About a third of Mankato's stable is F150's. Duluth has a ton of Tahoes and Durangos. Every K9 unit uses gas guzzlers. I'm wondering how well the top mount IC is going to work with lights stuck in there. Someone didn't have any forethought on that setup.
Why? The only thing they are paying for is FUEL. The cars were "loaned" to Itasca by SOA Great lakes region. Loaned=No cost.
Hmm... wonder how much they're gonna sell those for when they're done with them... assuming they're still running lol
Someone once told me that awd was pointless because they stop like every other car. I looked at him for a minuet and walked away without saying anything.
