What is the best bang for the buck for a fish finder? Looking to spend around $200. What brand and model would you reccomend? Also what kind of auger would you guys reccomend?

    Thanks

Do you want a display, or the circle with the blips? I prefer Vexilar.

What Shibbs said for the fish finder... as for the auger an 8" or 10" if you can get one for a good price, would be good, gas powered...

Bigger is almost always better as far as augers go. So much easier to fish out of.

Also - if you're not in a house, the holes take longer to ice over if they're larger, too.

the down side is the larger the hole, the more light that shines in and sometimes you can not see down in the lake as easy.

Which is better? I mean the display is pretty self explanatory and how do you read the circle with the blips?

Thanks for the advice on the auger. I'll look more into it. Went for the first time yesterday, it was fun and I didn't catch anything, but it just made me more determind to ice fish more.

I love my Marcum lx-5: true 3 color display and 2500w peak to peak power.

Vexilar FTW. You can see your hook when you jig.
