well, a week ago my car started to make a clunk everytime I turn side to side. The clunk(actully more like a click) comes from somewhere in the back, where the rear wheels are. It feels like something is shifting. It feels like the click is Being transfered through the body of the car too. It does not happend all the time, the click goes away and comes back. Its there sometimes when I slow down to a compleate stop and then go in reverse. I have nothing in the trunk the jack is gone and the spair tire too. I checked the axels and they do have a free play not huge but a little. Same in the front as it is in the back.
Any ideas what could this be? How hard and how expensive will the replacement of axels be?
    Thanks, Taras

ok, so I noticed that when the car is on the ebrake and I rock it side to side it makes the clunk and when it is not on the ebrake it is not. The sound comes from both sides and it comes somewhere from the wheels. Maybe bearings.

if it happens when you slow down then go into reverse my vote is brake pads... pad slapping back and forth within the slides is a common issue in mkaing a clicking/clunking noise...

check the fitment of the brake pads inside the slides... you may need new pads and a hardware kit...

yeah could be the pads. However I think I fixed the clunk. One of the endlinks was a little looseon the swaybar side. I can't hear the clunk much anymore but it used to go away and comeback so well see.
