Since Nate's shop's gone, who also does ALIGNMENT? I need it for two cars maybe. Would want it this Friday or Saturday.
Hmm. I was gonna post this question sometime tomorrow. Except I won't need it until later in November. So I second this question, where's a good place to get an AWD alignment? Thanks!
Just recently had a positive experience with Car-X in Robbinsdale, they had no problem matching my requested specs instead of factory. $99 for 4 wheel.
No need to search... Jeff Forss www.TheAlignmentGuy.com [email protected] 1009-C West 80th. Street, Bloomington MN. Regular hours: 10-4 Mon.-Sat. Other times available by appointment. 952-888-0800
Depends on what you want. Last I went it was 40.00 for factory specs, factory tolerances. If you want custom or tighter tolerances it was more... yes, all 4 wheels.
But not a lot more. Jeff has all the right gear to do alignments to seriously tight tolerances if you so choose. He does a *lot* of work for the local AutoX club, and has gained a great deal of experience on Subarus in the last couple of years. And for those of you with coilovers, he's tooled up to do corner weighting, too. Stuart.
A good friend of mine used to live with Jeff before he moved in with me. I've never had work done there, but I've been to his place.
He's actually got his own shop now. It's behind a welding shop in Bloomington just south of 494. Damn Minneapolis Commies.
though its been said a bunch already. Count me in as a satisfied "Jeff the alignment guy" customer. He had files on all the cars he had worked on as a cross reference too. I was flipping through the subaru stuff and saw a few familiar names.
Went with Rick (silver03) to meet Jeff, real nice guy. Evidentialy Jeff might register on the site. Let's make sure he gets a warm welcome. FYI- i don't believe the 40 price is accurate anymore. He'll post up how much he needs to charge. anyways...give him a warm welcome if he shows up on the site!
Very pleased with alignment. Jeff is just a plain nice guy with alot of knowledge. Initial impressions...2 thumbs up and I am bringing another car to him on Monday.
FYI: the price quoted in this thread is not accurate, and it doesnt help to call the guy up and berate him about something you heard secondhand on the internet. you know who you are.
lmao @ whoever did that! Anyways, I'm going to be meeting up with the guy in a week or so. I've heard nothing but good things about the dude.
Sorry about that (posting the price). I was hesitant but figured since someone straight out asked I would.
1, Hi. 2, Often doing the work is easier than setting a price. Many shops shoot for "whatever the market will bear", many customers shoot for the lowest price, I shoot for "fair". If a car needs a 1/4 turn on one tie rod end I'm going to ask around $40. If I spend three hours setting every angle that's adjustable, hitting your specs on the nose, sometimes I feel like I'm cheating myself doing the work for only $100 (I've done alignments at shops that get $200 for Porsches & Quattros). But Hi-po work has more bragging rights and the owners are usually pretty fun to hang out with (it's the laypeople who talk down to me or give me flak that cheese me off). I did an A6 today that would have been a "four wheel" anywhere else, I billed it as a "two wheel" since I did the R/F & L/R = two wheels. Sounds fair enough, right? 3, I do try to be easy going but I can get cranky. I love not having "the man" telling me that I'm "great" one minute and "no good" the next, I love working on fun cars, but I still get weighted down with the stress of keeping this little shop growing. Some days I run it, some days it runs me. It's like getting your first apartment: The good news is that it's 100% your show. The bad news is that all of the things that other people took care of at your parent's house, are now your job. 4, There is no item four. 5, I don't check this forum every day so if you'd like to get a hold of me please use my regular email: [email protected], or give me a call: 952-888-0800. Thanks, Jeff
"I've heard nothing but good things about the dude." You need to ask more people. (I crack me up) A good straight line is a terrible thing to waste. (Hey Stooo, Shane...) Rick, your car is done. My "2:00" cancelled. I'll be here busting snow tires and cleaning till my "6:00" shows up. Thanks. JMF
Jeff, Welcome! It's great to have you here. I'll likely be seeing you soon alignment/tire mounting needs. -sheen
Welcome aboard Jeff! I just dropped you an email about an alignment check on my '07 Forester XT. Thanks!
