Alright, the 5-speed swap isn't going to smoothly and both my buddies who were helping had to take off. So now I'm home with a car that's almost halfway apart and have no form of transportation if I break anything again (busted 2 ratchets and 1 socket already).

I have a heated and insulated garage with good lighting, so the working environment is pretty nice. I also have 2 cases of beer and jag so there are refreshments as well.

If anyone is willing to drive out to blaine to lend a helping hand it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I'm missing the 2 clips that connect the throw-out bearing to the fork. So I definately needs those, if anyone has them I'll pay top dollar for them. I need to get this thing running my Monday AM hopefully.

    Thanks,
    Bryan

Could you enlighten me on these special tools, and if one doesn't have said special tools, what can be used in lieu of such tools?

Progress was made. Getting the auto tranny out was a pain in the ass. He's pretty much at clean slate mode. No tranny or driveline parts are in. EJ22Tim, if you could please give us a call or something and let us know about the wiring, it would be greatly appreciated.

Clutch and whatnot is installed. Still need an extra hand or 2 to install the 5-speed if anyone wants to boot out.

why was the auto tranny a pain? its just like the manual but there are some extra bolts by the torque converter shield thing that you need to get to through the access hole on the bell housing.

the torque converter was rusted to the flexplate, so we all took turns for quite a while trying to pry it out. it finally came and then the tranny got stuck so fuji had to fandangle it and it finally fell.

One other problem arose today, I was bolting the pressure plate to the flywheel when installing the clutcn and the bolt busted . So i had to uninstall the clutch and flywheel and i'll have to extract it.

I'll Still need help sometime this week putting the 5mt back in.
