http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Whee...Model=Alleggerita+HLT&wheelFinish=Red+Painted I absolutely love these rims but I am so torn in choosing what color...The car is an 05 WRB Sti. I am really leaning towards red but the orange also looks so good. At the same time I've never had any different color rims then black/silver and I feel like red or orange might just be to much after a while. Curious if anyone with really different color rims regret it or not? I'm thinking of just getting the black because I don't want to take the chance of getting red and being upset later down the road.
I'd be inclined to steer clear of red or orange on WRB. Gold, White, Anthracite, Silver, Black and Bronze would all work just fine. Keep the red wheels for the black cars and the orange/green wheels for the white cars. Definitely don't put the blue ones on a blue car. That'd just be too much blueness. I kind of like the Matte Graphite Silver ones, too. Darker than the Anthracite without having to commit to the full on Black ones (since not everybody is ready for that). But, I have a set of black rims sitting here for my WRB car, so I guess that's where my true allegience lies. Stuart.
But it's so cliched ! Yes, it looks good, but the OP is considering red or orange in his options. Do you really think he's going to play it safe with Gold ? Stuart.
Hell yeah it is...which is why I probably would never buy brand new gold wheels. Too bad those wheels don't come in bronze..
I've got Bronze ones on it now... Switching to the Black ones once I get the coilovers installed. Stuart.
Well, good point. I stand by my assessment, however. Like the look of the Anthracite, just not sure about them on WRB.
Hook me up with those bronze wheels stooo, lol... Those Anthracite wheels do look pretty good, but I agree prolly not the best looking on WRB...
im gonna have to pretty much +1 everything stew just said. I wouldnt put any of the color rims on. The white would be good (gonna be hard to keep clean) so i say go with the darker rims, but hey man its your car your style.
i vote against red. red and blue together reminds me of the police in your rear view mirror. pretty much any of those colors except red or blue would work much better. i wouldnt do orange because someone already has orange wheels on their blue sti that i have seen pics on here of... dont know his/her name. blue/gold is WAY popular and yes it does look good but id go with one of the darker gray colors or something if it were me. have someone with some photo shop skills do a few up on your car for you so you can better decide and then insert a poll in the thread. i was very nervous about how my 18s would look on my yellow and numerous people told me they wouldnt look good and to just sell them to them for their car instead and after i put them on its pretty much been unanimous that i couldnt have found a better match.
i have red with WRB for winter wheels, i like it. you end up with questions of "why are your wheels red" but its fine. i kind of like white now that would look good as well. good luck on choosing
Hmm now its work for me... Stupid Work Internets I dunno I think it shouts for attention but looks sweet at the same time
lol I have to do the same thing in the rally car - I keep a 2x4 behind my seat gold always looks good. or white
The photo belies the steepness of that road. It was parked in 1st, handbrake on, and rocks under all four wheels. There's an almost vertical drop on the far side of the car that you can't see. Me and the other half dozen people parked there were taking *no* chances. Did you know we get earthquakes here ? They're very odd. They make you feel a bit wiggly inside, but it takes a few seconds for you to figure out why. Stuart.
Eathquakes are fun. Like a rollercoaster. (I'm from NorCal) I don't blame you for the rocks. At crater lake, we walked out of a resturant to find a truck embeded in our passenger side. Guy eithe rfaile dto set his parking brake or the parking brake failed. Had our car not been there his truck would have been in the lake.
Anthracite, I have Anthracite colored wheels on my wrb and I love the color combo. gold is overdone but sure does look good.
Meh, people worry to much about "other people" or "the crowd." Go with what you think looks nice, you're the one who'll be looking at them daily.
