If my downpipe has a O2 bung should I use it? I bought a downpipe and it came with an O2 bung in it but it also came with a CEL fix for the O2 sensor? If I put the O2 sensor in without the fix will it still throw a CEL? The uppipe I bought has an EGT bung also I've heard not to put it in, just plug the hole and do the resistor thing? Any advice for this installation would help out greatly. Oh, another thing when im installing these pipes anyone know how much foot pounds I should torque the bolts to?

Specified torque in the manuals is 26-30 ft-lbs for pretty much any exhaust bolt. But the more the merrier when it comes to the uppipe install! Leaks would suck.

Yes, I would plug the uppipe bung, don't even bother reinstalling the stock EGT probe. Plug a 1/2 watt 2.2k ohm resistor in the harness, and you're good to go.

For the downpipe, your stock rear O2 needs to go back in that bung, but without a fix, you will eventually throw P0420 (rear catalyst inefficiency). Pony Express sells MIL eliminators that you splice into the wiring harness. The fix for the 04 is slightly different than the fix for the 02-03.

Can you explain a little better how to install the resistor? right now I have just unplug'd the EGT and took it out all together with the stock uppipe. Once the fix is done how do you clear the codes or do they just go away on there own?

Just find the plug where the EGT probe would have normally gone (in region of factory boost control solenoid), bend the resistor into a U-shape, and cram it in there. Somewhere on nasioc i've seen a pic of this...might be on scoobymods as well. I don't think I will have time to look for it today.

Remove negitive terminal from the battery. Wait 10 minutes then tap the brake pedal several times to bleed off any stored current. Reinstall the negitive terminal. Start car let warm up to opperating temp. Shut off car for 30 seconds then let her buck.
