:? So, I'm delivering pizzas this evening(still am) and sitting at a stoplight, I notice I threw a cel. Got my AP on board, so I read the cel code, and it came up with OBD Code P0447. "Evaporative emission control system vent control circuit open". I searched on nasioc and it possibly has something to do with the "cannister" by the passenger side, rear wheel well, and some wires. Just wondering if anyone has some experience with this code and possible solutions. Thanks in advance for any help. I don't wanna have to bring it in, I just ordered my cobb Up/tbe and torque converter. Would rather spend money on installation and more mods instead of fixes :( thanks!

"Circuit open" could be a disconnected plug... or a cut/broken wire.

    Hope it's the first one...

I got the same code for an 1 1/2 years, mine comes and goes. But finally I knew what cousing it. Re-tightin your gas cap like crazy. And if you have a OBII reader, erased the code and voila!!!!

Vacuum line under the manifold blown off. Between the Alt. and the PS there is a blue "T" that the hose pops off. The sensor in the tank is not seeing vacuum. Could be a gas cap as well.

LOL sorry look in between the power steering pump and the alternator. It is tucked down there and the only thing that is blue.

Yes you can see it with a flashlight.

Left side as you face the motor.

Easy to see but a PITA to put back on unless you have a angled needle nose.

As far as I could tell, "all was good in the hood" I saw a blue pc. connected to two hoses. Unless, there was a third one supposed to be connected, under that blue pc. Those hoses seemed to be in tact. I guess I'll have to jack the thing up and check out the passenger rear wheel thing tomorrow. But, I don't really know w7h they're talking about.

If its not the vac line check the cannister lines (alhough they never really go anywhere) if not that then its almost cetainly a leak in the gas cap. I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

I cleared my codes today with the AP and drove up to St. Cloud and back. The CEL didn't come back on. SO, I got that goin' for me :) I wasn't really worried, just curious.

well here's the bad part! working at morries I see it enough. The purge control solenoid is in a terrible spot, and even worse the connector faces straight down at the road so all the salt and junk can eat away at it! If it's just the connector its an easy fix, but if the stupid wires break, or the solenoid goes out it's not so easy to diagnose anymore without tearing all the wiring loom to pieces in half and removing the rear seat for access to the rear harness for that circuit!

I bet thats what you really wanted to hear huh?

No, not really. :-/ How soon would the CEL come back if something was really wrong?

if it checks the pc solinoid as aften as it checks the rear 02, i's say you have about 4-5 days.
