    So, what's you favorite/ best/ cheapest OBD-II scanner?

The "CReader" is cheap, extremely lightweight&compact, super easy to use (NO buttons on it! Plug it in, it displays the codes in red LED-digits a few times, and then clears them.), and needs no batteries.
But unfortunately it does NOT work in Subarus (at least, not my '00).

    Typically about $46 w/shipping.

The "Toptak TP-150" is more expensive, needs batteries for the backlight and to store codes to look at again later (uhh, in case you can't find a pencil and post-it note anywhere?), is relatively humongous, and annoying to use (you have to remember to HOLD the Clear button down until it stops beeping, to actually clear the codes). The good news is, it DOES work on Subarus.

Has anybody tried any others that they like/dislike?

    I'm wondering about this "DT-610".

    Or this cute&tiny "Actron CP9125".

I have the Actron one, works fine on my '00 and '99 subarus. It's small enough to keep in the glove box. They were on sale one week at Checker so I bought one, I think it was under $40. You have to press erase once and then press and hold erase for it to clear codes, but it works.

I have a CodeScout 1500, which works very well, but I wouldn't call it cheap. It looks as though AutoXray have also released a little brother to the 1500 recently. Half the price, and a dinky little screen.
