I'm getting out of the saltwater aquarium hobby, so I'm selling the aquarium.

Tank has an overflow in the corner, which will drain down to a 15 gallon sump-tank, which I will include! The sump pump and water hoses is also included! I think I have a protein skimmer, which will also be included! I might even have some florescent lights laying around, which will be included too.

I can't remember if it is a 48 or 58 gallon tank, but come take a look if you're interested.

There are a few minor scracthes on the front glass, barely noticable once filled with water.

$175.00. FIRM. You pick it up. Pictures have been added!

    3 foot long? that would be a 58 gal, I don't remember oceanic making a 48, I'm sure they make a 58 though.

Outstanding deal in case anyone was wondering, if I had the cash I'd be on it for sure. I kick myself for getting rid of my 110 and my 58 reef ready.

Quit tempting me! I just started a 20L and that's all I can deal with. But this is an awesome deal on a reef ready tank. What are the specs on the lights? Lights are everything on a reef tank :D

It's been about a year since the tank was up and running. I used to run 4 36"power compacts, those are gone now (sold). I think I still have a dual 36" florescent light assembly in the garage somewhere, may need new bulbs.

Well, someone buy it before I decide to keep it and start all over again.

Oh, and if you're wondering, you can also use this for freshwater!

Is this a saltwater aquarium that you started? I had a 20L reef tank setup at one time with live rock, blue carpet anenome & 2 percula clowns; very tricky on water quality though. Good luck. :)

Yeah, during the summer I work for a saltwater fish store, www.oceansfloor.net so I'm used to the daily maitenance and what not. It's going to be a sps dominated tank. Here's a link to the current tank, http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=66551. But that's off the subject, I'm really contemplating this tank. Post some pics of everything and maybe I'll pull some money out of my ass and buy the thing :D

Dude you don't have to set it up for saltwater, and salt water isn't that hard either.

Damn that's a great deal too.

I have been thinking about setting up a tank for saltwater but haven't had time to. You have any pics? Since yours is already set up I might be interested.

I'll try to get pics, but if someone wants to see it in person, just email me so we can setup a time.

For now, it'll be sold to the first person who shows up with the $$$. I'll give you guys here one more week and if no one is interested, I'll post it on other forums.

    Thanks again!

Gosh, I don't remember...some generic kind, made for a sump tank. It did a good job on my reef setup. You can buy a better one if needed.

That fish looks cool...it's too bad they're carnivorous! You mention "dwarf," never heard of a dwarf lionfish, be kinda cool if it stayed under 3 inches its whole life.

To get back to the topic, the aquarium is SOLD!

how much did you get a dwarf for? i got my volitans for $30/ea, about... it's been a while since i've done the whole saltwater thingy...

and the carnivores r0x0r. i always feed them rosey reds; no goldfish because them fish be fatt! they'll make your fish sick.

I bought him at the dr. foster and smith outlet store for 22 bucks. He will stay relatively small for a while but has the potential to grow to 7 inches. Right now he'll eat frozen mysis shrimp but I have some frozen krill coming in the mail, that will make him happy :D I heard from someone that you shouldn't feed freshwater fish to them, I think they mentioned something about nutrients and how they're different with freshwater? And I'm really curious as to what his sting feels like. Maybe when I'm drunk one day I'll give it a shot

And congrats on selling the tank! I hope whoever bought it makes a very pretty reef tank out of it.

yeah, i used to feed mine little shrimps, but it got too spendy. my lions never minded roseys though. gulped them up like there was no tomorrow. showed no signs until my tank got poisoned... and by the way, my black volitan stings 5X harder than my red. it gave me a hand twice the size of my feet. not really, but you get the idea.

Maybe... we'll see it'll take a bit more money than I'm ready to spend right now, but the topic has been discussed with the wife, so we'll see. As of now I'm probably just going to set it up freshwater, for a short time, and switching it over eventually, but I'll need some great lighting, maybe vho lights maybe a metal halide, I like the VHO much better, but we'll see what the plans we come up with hold.

I used to work at a world of fish in richfield, so I've done a bunch of tanks, never did too much with live rock, so I'm sure I'll start off slow. Oh and AWOF sells the dwarf lion fish, I believe they call them "Fu manchu" lion fish, I'd guess they'd go for around $40. They didn't get a ton of them in but that are not too uncommon or hard to find.

Thanks again for the great deal Yang!

Like, just the fish, no live rock, no live sand kind of thing? A lot of people do fish only with live rock tanks, fowlr is what most people write. The fuzzy dwarf will get pretty large, around 7", and I don't plan on keeping him until he gets that big. The only way that it's ok for him to be in there is that they don't swim much and mostly just cling under rocks and hide all day. I think of it as putting a fat man in a small room and a very active athlete, who's going to go crazy first? But you could do it, just be sure to do a lot of water changes and keep things clean and pristine ;)

it could be done, but i wouldn't do it myself... at a minimum, i'd have a lion fish in atleast a 55 just to allow it to roam. i feel so bad for the one's at the MOA's underwater adventures. there's about 8 red volitans in what appears to be 3 gallons of water! ouch! and they were a pristine size too, about 7+ inches!

A dwarf in a 20 gal sure I don't see why not, they are a bit differnt temperment than your "standart" volitan My brother had a little dwarf in his 2 gal mini reef he did fine for a long time.
