    That was a good read.

Now I just wonder if I were to get pulled over for speeding with my cb on channel 19, do I get treated the same as if I had a radar detector? Actually though, around here I usually hear people asking for directions rather than giving bear reports on 19.

Im gonna have to give it up for my passport 7500 sp. Best thing Ive ever bought. Ive only gotten one ticket and that was only because i forgot to turn the volume up on it and didnt see the radar till it was too late.

Agreed on the V1. Saved me on the way to Ice Races. He was pissed too. Read me the riot act about having a device that I use to break the law. He is just mad because he "knows we were speeding" but did not clock us. Was only doing like 5 over anyway.

    Am I missing something???

I read the whole thread and all the cops were laughing at people who use RD's. Only one officer chimed in about some being good. But didn't really say which one.

Come on, everyone knows that most cops are pricks. The majority of cops I know are the kids that were picked on every day in school.
    lol kidding!!!!!!!!!

The biggest way to combat a speeding ticket, SMILE ON YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE. Don't look like a stoned-out sonofab1tch, smile like a middle-schooler on pizza day.

My uncle was a sergeant at the apple valley PD for many years.

His tips on turning tickets into warnings, or smaller, more lenient tickets are as follows.

Upon being pulled over: Put the car in park, pull up parking brake, roll down window (no matter WHAT temp it is) turn off headlamps, and turn off ignition. Take the keys and set them on the top driverside corner of the dash visible to the officer. Have both hands at 12 oclock on the steering wheel when the officer approaches, and when you are asked for license and insurance info, take your wallet out with one hand, and make a slow, visible approach to the glove box to get your insurance info.

The key is putting an officer at ease when working with you, and realizing that their job is dealing with crazies all day, so being as a normal and as collected a person as possible, is key. You can also ask the officer a question such as "I'm having a hard time finding my destination, could you point me in the right direction?" to establish you as a PERSON and not just another law breaker.

This info isnt how to screw an officer over, or outsmart them. You WONT. This is just as beneficial to the officer pulling you over, as it is for you to know. Using these steps I have NEVER gotten a ticket other than fix its, aside from the exhaust ticket I got. That peeved me a little bit.
