They've been going around on here lately. I just purchased them on Friday. This was taken today. Still want to do a front end conversion so I can get more room up front and get that flare. Rears may have to be rolled.
I still like the orange on blue. How did fitment go? 18's look a ton bigger on that car than they did on mine!
Front is fine. I had to raise the rears 1/2" and increase stiffness. After I did that I rode them from Cottage Grove to Minneapolis to go to the auto show and heard them rub in the rear maybe twice. So the rears will definitely need to be rolled.
Sounds like you have coilovers already. Why not get stiffer springs so it doesn't squat too far down. This will demand more out of the dampers but it does the trick. If you are squatting that much with no load, you should be on stiffer springs anyways. Depending on what brand you have, eibach makes all kinds of different spring rates and different lengths. This is what I did and solved all the rubbing issues.
I think they look amazing! I'll never join the haters on the anti-orange bandwagon...i think that the blue makes the orange really pop and vise versa!
Yea, personally I think the orange and blue compliment each other. Also, these wheels have an added benefit for night time visibility. These things basically glow in the dark!
The orange on blue looks good in my opinion... the euro tire stretched sidewalls not so much... but if you like em that's all that matters! Sedan fenders are a must though.
wow those rims are being passed down like a prostitute. nice wheels tho only if they were black or gold.
Haha I saw those. I actually pulled out my phone and showed these wheels to the kiosk girl that came up to us. She got a kick out of it.
no amount of fender rolling is going to save you in the rear with those wheels/tires... you're going to need to stiffen up the suspension (alot) or raise the car.
Pish Posh. You can fit 9.5in wheels on a GD wagon with ease. You only have to do a little bit of fender work. I should qualify that last statement. By "a little bit of fender work" I mean "Buy a GR body". To make those things fit under a GD wagon is going to require a body shop, an old priest, a young priest and an act of God. Rolling isn't going to do anything. 7.5in tires are usually the upper limit, and you went two inches wider with a lower offset. You'd be better off cutting the fenders out and installing bolt on flares if you want the wheels covered by the bodywork.
That's just it. They want their tires covered by the fender. It all ends up looking like this to me: Then they come crying when it ends up like this or this
The first pic makes me sad. The second and third give me warm fuzzies. That Z needs to be put out of its misery. Between the herrafrush and the color that poor thing is begging to be shuffled off this mortal coil.
Second picture makes me wonder what kind of tire pressures these idiots are running. Last picture would be understandable if it was an OG dori dori car with odd sized stock wheels/tires (or small wheels and tall tires) on the track and the hipari was only on the rear wheel in an off size tire due to lack of availability (or prohibitive cost) of a proper sized test tire. But even then there are enough reasonably priced specialty tires made these days that the stretch is almost entirely aesthetic and no longer done for "functional" purposes. Either way, the Z is a reminder that the wheels are closer to the ground and your rim and lip are no longer protected by the tire. It's just comical how these kinds of trends start and evolve. Reminds me a lot of the giant pepboys wings you used to see on every Honda back in the day.
That's because of all of the additional HP's from the catbacks they put on them. I wish that i could simply add a fart can and gain a gajillion horsepower...it's just not fair. Those idiots in the pics with the stretched out tires deserve that carnage that they plagued themselves with...+casturation and a hot poker in tha eye?
