Going to get my first oil change in the WRX probably tonight. I've always been a "get your oil changed at the dealer" guy so I'm going to stick with that.

The closest dealer to me is Bloomington Acura Subaru, off Lyndale.

Just wondering if any of you guys have experience with the service dept there, or recommend anyone for me to specifically ask for.

    Thanks!

Great job on reading his post.

Any of those guys there will be able to help you out, I've heard pretty good things about their service overall. If you're able to make the 15min or so drive to Minnetonka to visit the service/parts department up there you'll be dealing with a number of MNSOC members who work there and can take great care of you.

I, too, got my first oil change there as it was free because I bought the vehicle from them. They did a fine job. No issues, however nothing over the top happened either. All in all, I was satisfied.

Since I moved up here not too long ago (didn't bring any tools) and live in an apartment within city limits (no room to store tools, nor a place to jack up my car without the risk of getting ran over) I'm not really able to do it myself.

Thanks for the feedback though guys, I'll hit them up after work today.

Perhaps I'll make the trip to Minnetonka one of these times.

I looked up pricing last night, and the oil change was $34.99 (free car wash and vacuum as well).

I think that's about normal for a dealer.

My brother has had all his oil changes done there for the life of his WRX (85K) and has been very happy with their service.

They replaced my leaking water pump on the RS about 3yrs ago. They called me mid job to ask if I wanted the t-belt changed while they were at it since it would only be an extra cost for the part and no extra labour.

It turns out that the new thermostat was bad, so the car started to get warm on the way home. The following morning I dropped the car off and they swapped in a fresh one, all for no extra charge.

I've also bought a few supplies from them in the past since I drove past the place twice a day on my commute. So, I suppose my experience of them has been positive. But, they definitely are more Acura focused.

I would still try and buy stuff from the Mtka crew when possible. They do take good care of the members on this board.

    Stuart.

personally i hate them.... i switch to morries minnetonka.... I used to own an acura and brought it there for the first 100,000 miles of maintaince. They always tried to blame me for things not working correctly on the car, instead of just fixing it and charging me, everything turned into a hassel.

I bought my subie from them and when the first oil change came it took them 90 min and i had an appointment to wait.... took it to morries the next time and had it back with in 30. Then asked morries to take to bloomington plate frames off and put morries on instead (they gladly did it for FREE!!!!)

so moral of my story..... Go Morries now or you'll be doing it later

Just a heads up, to qualify for the MNSOC discount, you'll need (not just you everyone) the MNSOC card and membership.

A regular oil change is around 27 bucks or so OTD, a syn will be a bit more, around 55 or so.
