Who is ready for a fun weekend watching some rally in Minnesota's North Woods? Hard to believe four weeks from now we'll be in the woods watching rally cars. The absolute best seat in the house to watch is from you're very own Marshal point or Start/Finish Controls. Grab a couple of buddies and come on up for some rally action. If you're coming to spectate, beat the crowds and get you're own spot in the woods by registering to volunteer at http://ojibweforestrally.com/ . Don't worry if you've never volunteered before, we'll give you the information you need to have a fun and safe day. If you're planning on competing please also go to http://ojibweforestrally.com/ and register. If you want a little more fun time in the woods, check "bannering" when you register. Friday morning we will be driving the stages putting up caution tape to warn off non-rally traffic and going out again Sunday to take it down. You can help put it up, take it down or both and still Marshal or help out at a Start/Finish Control. I've moved bannering back to Friday a.m. so people don't need an extra night of hotel room to help. Current plan is to have two meeting spots for people that want to banner, one in Bemidji, 9 a.m. at registration, and the other at 9:30 a.m. in Akeley, MN. I will post a spot for the Akeley meet up when we get closer to the event. See you in the woods! Come play with us and see some rally action!
With all the issues with the state and NT rallys and even rallyX getting canceled I am sooooo pumped for this!! I cant wait!!
I'm about 90% sure I'm in for this one. The wife and kid are probably coming with so I have to figure out what that means for availability to volunteer.
Anyone need a fix before the big rally??? http://www.mnsubaru.com/threads/dog-daze-rally-cross-august-21st.36612/
Ojibwe Forests Rally weekend 2011 has been *Cancelled*. With only 9 entries and 1/4 of the volunteers needed signed up, there just wasn't enough of either to continue. Please stay tuned regarding future events. If you used to come (either to compete or volunteer) and weren't going to this year, I would be interested to hear why not. Please share. Thanks...
FWIW, this would've been my first year spectating. Not volunteering because a) this is my first one, b) working Friday, c) bringing the family. Hope this gets revived next year!
because I wrecked my car at that other mn rally and for some odd reason it takes a long time and costs a lot of money to build a new one hopefully the economy turns around and more competitors come out next year - seems like most competitors have scaled back on the number of events they can run
Last year I was a slave with no time off. This year I have the time off, but with little to no promotion till a couple of weeks ago, I can't get the time off. On a side note, me as a website owner that caters to most of your workers/racers, I am more than willing to help promote the event, someone just needs to either contact me or respond to me emails on what we (as MNSubaru) or I (as a site owner) can do to help. And something hopefully a little earlier than a a month before the event. Russ
I would have been up, except I had already taken time off for the now cancelled Nemdaji trail rallies instead.
