w00t! I cant wait. I will be there for sure either to spectate w/ my camera or possibly entering w/ a buddy to co-drive.
Is there a place where I can view all of the rules (specifically about what needs to be present/working at tech inspection)
I'm down, as long as I just barely beat Emily . My skills are still weak, and I'm kinda hoping to see if one of the more experienced drivers would be willing to ride-along??
What class do you run? If we are in the same class I may be able to ride along and give a few pointers. If I need to cover my work assignment while you are running I won't be able to do a ride along.
I just might have to go to this one. all that rally talk at the loch meet got me wanting to get to one of these events. Can you have passangers? would be nice to get some pointers from you experianced guys/gals.
Either SA or PA, depending on the tires. I'm thinking I'm just gonna switch my stock wheels to the snows and run them a bit early. I hate having to borrow other people's tires constantly. If I run my tires, SA. And if none of the more experienced drivers are able to ride along, newbs are more then welcome to get jostled around instead.
If someone wants to ride along with me as well that would be sweet as I don't really know what I'm doing at this point. I'll be running PA again
The Rally Master for the event may have an idea of what he wants it to look like, but courses literally finalized as they lay out the cones that morning. You'll get a chance to walk the course and maybe a parade lap in your car before your run so you can familiarize yourself with it. You might want to walk it with an experienced competitor who can give you some tips. Glad to hear your coming out to have some dirty fun! Amy
Hay thanks Amy! I see so basically its all laid out the morning of the race? yeah it would be nice to get someone to give some pointers.
Well, they may have an idea before they get there, about using half the field or wanting a pin turn (180 deg or more around a pivot) or slaloms, etc., but the safety steward might change elements during set up or during the day to keep the course from rutting too much or if it starts rutting.
Hey Matt, I would like to share your car with you, or did you just mean ride along? I am experienced as far as this season goes. I am in the stock class and would love to run a more capable car. I didn't introduce my self. Dustin is the name, and I'll give you good feedback as to what might make your car faster.
The owner has done a fine job with the land. Silty soil that has been used for almost all of the events this year really doesn't have a chance to become hard pack. With the drainage to the middle of the field from both sides it will always stay silty and loose.
I mean co-drive as in we both drive the same car. It might be a bit boring otherwise. I don't know if I'd call the car capable. I simply set it up in a way that it is at least competent at the task (not flawed) and that I'm not fighting against it at every moment (balanced and responsive). It's actually enjoyable to drive because it's no longer working against you. You still have to drive it well to be fast, as with any car. Half the fun is getting yourself and the car to 10/10ths as well as driving the course to 10/10ths. Sounds like a plan. Just avoid the simple suggestions like more power, less weight, and more traction. Those are gimmies.
If I didn't want to drive my own car, I'd totally codrive with you. I just have different goals at the moment.
M4 I believe bird is the word. Uh 2002 Forester S, maybe pick 13, 31, 9, or 8 if available. I picked 3 cause that's what I was last time, so pick something close to it that can easily be created with a piece of tape, a number that is yet taken/used for the event. Maybe I'll be bold and strip the interior out, lol. I need to do some sound deadening before I put my audio system back in anyways, so it won't matter much. Steel and two seats
All right pre-registered. My email: [email protected]. I will most likely send you a write-up of my detailed opinion after everything is said and done. See you there. -Dustin
If I don't get my car back in time, I might be looking to co-drive with someone. I could give you some tips maybe, but not as much as some of the more experienced drivers.
I should be back from China in time to make this one! I'll have to "borrow" my bro's car though (Back Road Runner) since mine's only got 250 miles broken in on it's new engine Nevorally, I call shotgun! You'll have to ride in the back (or the roof if you prefer) LOL. JK. More drivers the merrier...
Unless you want to codrive with Headrush and give him some advice. You two figure it out. I don't care either way. One of you two are with me. The other is with Headrush. Or both of you drive my car, and I codrive with Headrush. That way you two can chat it up and whine about my car together. I kind of like that way just because it's more efficient. I could say my bro gets precedence, but I don't care. It seems we have enough people to fill the needed spots, so that's good. I just don't care how we do it. All I'm looking for is feedback on my car. What does it do right? What does it do wrong? That kind of stuff. That's my only goal.
brian i took a lil closer look last night while out smoking a cig.. found acouple other things that broke
well apparently the army needs me to work that day so looks like i will not be able to attend... gotta love being voluntold
well if it was drill maybe but i have to attend some outward bounds thing up north, sounds like a bunch of BS but i was command directed a.k.a. voluntold to go it sucks i was really looking forward to getting back out in the dirt
