Well i did it! I installed that thing on my car. It was Much harder than i thought to install. All my knuckles are gone and my back is killing me now. All in all it took me around 6-8 hours to do this. It does feel like the turbo spools up quicker and the boost comes like a jackhammer and its strong! Good thing i got the maf hose too, case i had to cut it a bit to make everything fit. The inlet does not go all the way into the same position like the stock one does, i bet it would if i did take the manifold off. Now i noticed that my A/F learning is at 5.47 on idle and around 2-3.47 on the highway. Here some pics:

Haha, I bet we all know about the "bloody knuckles and sore back" issue, I know I do.

I've heard those inlets are really a PITA. Glad you hear you finally got everything sorted out.

Wrenching in the cold makes beers and whiskey a necessary component to success. It keeps the hands warm, trust me ;)

Now I think it is not going all the way because of the TGV motor. I don't have them anymore and mine sits really close to the manifold. It DOE reach the turbo and it wraps over the turbo's inlet just fine.

yesterday, I lasted only 6-8 mins in the garage trying to get this one tension screw in. Garage heater was NOT helping at all..so I was like hell no I quit...its too cold... so the screw was not in and my Subie is sitting poorly in the garage.

I like it better now that I ground off the sharp edges of the intake manifold. They were kinda pushing the inlet in towards the power steering pump before. I ground both the front edge and the rear edge (by the turbo compressor) and made them rounded and smooth.

I'll try and get some better pictures tomorrow.

thanks a lot for posting the pics. Get a shot of the turbo too, if you can. It looks like mine is a little tilted upward.

After i installed the inlet i get a little flutter noise when i get off the gas under lots of boost, like 15+psi. I have a forge bpv with a green spring in it. I wonder if i get a compressor surge. Is there a way to test for it with enginuity.
    Thanks, Taras
