Holy suspension articulation. That is baddass. I wonder what they did to drive the wheels from each suspension arm.
That's pretty BA! That thing must weigh a ton!!! Do you think each wheel is controlled hydraulically - four levers to control ride height? Pretty d@mn cool!
yea, I've seen that. pretty sweet. he's definitely manually controlling them, which is probably the most useful part. To be able to adjust how much weight is on which wheel would be incredibly valuable. I suspect he's got a traditional transmission, going to a differential which splits the power between sides (obviously locked or lock-able, though), and then a chain drive from there out to each wheel. Looks extremely capable, but I'd be worried about stuff failing. Also there's something to be said for the challenge, that's why I loved wheeling my subarus for so many years.
I think it would be sweet to make a controller that did it's best to keep the vehicle as level as possible, so he could focus more on driving. Add in dampers like Delphi's magnetic active suspension, and it would insane. Automatic articulation with instantly variable damping. Of course, a manual override would be necessary. I still like it a lot. Anything can be made as durable as you want it to be.
