it was a cbr f4i i was only doing about 30 on a corner my grandmas car could do at almost 50 and i spilled yes it was only my 2nd time on a bike and the first on a sport bike (the other being a 250 road bike) but i wasnt pushing it or moving the throttle or changing my lean or anything. thats my bike experience. but then again i dont even like riding my mountain bike.
"The road is ####in' tough-ah, There's no question that-eh. It is rough, rough stuff. It's the ####in' road my friend. But it's the only road I know. ..." Quoted from the "D".
I've been down. Trying to stop in a long turn. Having something stopped in front of you (that you couldn't see going into the turn) doesn't help either. Should've had a riding jacket on, glad I had a helmet on. Yes, early on in the riding experience. **but hey, that's why I bought a learner bike...to learn on**
oh ya, definitely my lack of experience. i was looking for a different reaction in my road/track life so i went the 4wheeled route
The important thing is that you weren't hurt and that you learn from your mistake. Cold pavement, cold tires, humidity, paint stripes, gravel, sand, salt, old oil on the road, too abrupt a change in lean angle, any change in throttle, pressure on the front brake lever, etc. All of it can lead to a crash. I've crashed everything, from 100s to 1000s, on every type of surface, and crashes are always caused by something. Figure out what it was and avoid it the next time. Given that this was in Duluth, I'd wager cold tires and cold road, plus moisture that hadn't evaporated along with some oil or sand/gravel that had collected on your line.
it was in oregon a couple years ago in a beach parking lot with a little sand on it i and a lovely twisty entrance exit road to it i was doubling back to do it again and she slid out from under me. i love the engines but it just doesn't feel natural for me on two wheels like it does on four. i guess for you guys thats like saying i dont like bj's
I've dumped a crappy dirt bike a couple times on grass. that's enough for me, thx. my vehicles will have 4 wheels
motorcycles.... Your like a bird, but instead of flying 20-1,000' off the ground, your only inches off the ground flying and freeway speeds!
It's the vertical fall to the pavement that hurts the most, unless you aren't dressed and get road rash. Oh yeah, and hitting immovable objects tends to hurt as well. Worst thing I ever hit was a Caprice wagon...
