I think everyone should post the number the number they dropped to and then when rusty turns OT back on we can see the big or little differences.
Well see, this whole forum has always had a policy against "post whoring" that means, with the policy in place - those of us who HAD high numbers probably got them legitimately. REGARDLESS of whether or not the posts were in OT threads. You put OT here because the topic has .. NOTHING to do with the other categories, nor would it fit. Hence the name "offtopic" no need for this.
I lost around 700. I'm really not happy about this. I know they are posts, and they are pretty frivolous, but srsly. What was the point of making OT posts not count? If it was to make people mad, I'd say that it was successful.

Everything has been in this thread or the thread I linked to above. Russ said he'll turn them back on. I know it's a trivial thing, but it is fun to break through different milestones, I was working towards 2000 posts. Personally I'd rather have OT posts count towards the total because I don't want to encourage excessive posts in the ON topic sections, if that makes sense.
IMO not having OT posts keeps people from post whoring and is pretty standard on all of the other forums I post on.
Good call! But what is wrong with post whoring? It's just fun and harmless. Shoot, the other day I was having a great time with the "this" thread, I wasn't even drunk either! Oh, and the reason I put this in general is because it has to do with the forum as a whole and not some random off topic crazy thread. sorry
Babies. All of ya. First everyone bitches the the mod group doesn't have any fun. So as a joke in the other thread, I said that I was going to turn off the off topic posts to see who really contributes. I kinda forgot about it till Tom was bragging about hitting 4k. So I figured no better time than the present to turn them off and make a joke. In the mean time, I get pm's from all the butt hurt people that they are missing posts. It seems to me, that the general users are the ones that don't want to have any fun. So quit crying, quit pm'n me and I will turn them back on after work. Russ
my post count didn't really drop that much - make the picture/vid not count and I'd go to like 12 lol
