Please do not use [email protected] for your out of office replies. I WILL release your email to off-topic.com to let the vultures kill your inbox. This is your last warning. I will also post your name and email here, with a link to off topic, so everyone can enjoy the lulz. I am serious. I am tired of getting everyones "I am currently not in the office.....". Yes, even you Scuba Steve. Russ
I don't use my work email for MNSubaru (hence, no out of office replies), but I'm not 100% sure I know what you mean. Is [email protected] the address that all forum notifications come from? If so, you should be able to change the forum software to put in a [email protected] (or even [email protected]) as a return address, so that all autoreplies to notifications just go in to a black hole.
i'm guessing that russ is saying to add an exception in your out of office assistant to not send a reply when an email comes from mnsubaru@gmail
Yes, this. I have received 30 or so in the past week. Every time someone would get a email from MNSubaru (new posts, new PM's, everything), I get another out of office reply. So if someone received 20 new pm's while they are on vacation, MNS picks up 20 out of office replies. Russ
+1 Russ, you're asking everybody who uses Outlook AND MNSubaru to make an exception for *you* every time they set their OOA. That's a bit "tail wags dog", don't you think ? And in the time it takes you to type a reply telling me why I'm wrong, you could've just done the Gmail rule. Stuart.
I agree with this. If theres a way to set that up, I would. Im going out of town for 2 weeks and my out of office will be on. So you might be getting them from me as well. Although my out of office is set up to only send out 1 reply per email address while it is active. So i guess the most you would get from me is 1. If anything, people should set that up in their outlook. NOT just turning them off.
And you are also makeing the HUGE assumption that everyone's replay comes in as a out of office. Most places have r-tards for IT guys, so it is not as simple as making 1 rule. But to make everyone else happy, I will just deal and keep killing them as they come in. Sorry to cause problems for people who actually get a vacation. Russ
As per my first reply, you should be able to change the return address for the notifications to a donotreply address. This way the gmail account would not get any return email.
Oh, my out of office emails hit the mnsubaru account? lol..... damn, thought I covered that before I left town. Oh well...you'll have to deal with it til I get back next wednesday. I'll try to shut off the notifications from this end. edit: I deleted my thread notifications....it should be okay now
