I am not very happy with the sound system in the 08 Outback. Does anyone have experience with upgrading? I thought the biggest bang for the buck would be in speakers. Seems to be both tweeter and larger speaker in the front. Who knows what size speakers they are? Crutchfield does not mention the tweeter. Would an amp help or is the radio/cd the problem? thanks.
You can research on say Crutchfield or Cardomain. But there are definitely better deals to be had at other vendors, those previously mentioned site have great ways to research the products though. As for the amp typically in the setups I have run if you want the most of of your speakers (treble and bass wise) you are gonna need an amp, unless that is you are running a subwoofer. Like in my case I want my door speakers to take care of the highs and mids and my subwoofer takes care of the lows. That way I get all the bass I want from my subwoofer and my speakers don't get over powered or don't have any real low bass passing through them.
Probably worth your time to post on sites like: http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/ Lots of info out there.
