Hey guys, Jon here. I discovered MN Subaru via another local car forum, Eurowerks! Natehack and others over there have subarus in addition to euros or a love for them.

I picked up a 1999 Outback MT in November and it's been a good couple months since then! After getting THREE rapid leaks in the all-seasons that were on it, I snagged some General Altimax Arctics and have been wishing for lots of snow since then :)

I've looked at the Gen2 Outbacks extensively before when looking for used cars, but never found the right one. I caught a SMOKING deal on this one on the night of our first big snowstorm this season, and got down to see it when everyone else was unwilling to drive. Unbelievably, it has NO exterior surface rust (tho the fuel filler area has some inside) - I've literally never seen a Subaru of the same age in MN with such a lack of rust! Mid-1xx,xxx miles. She's been a charm so far!

Sadly...I am all iDevice based here so I have no idea how to get a picture into my post as they don't have "files" :(

Looking forward to what I hope is a long, healthy, not-so-costly relationship with my Subie!

Healthy and not so costly. Good luck with that! I would check the fuel filler tube itself.

Hey all, still mostly just lurking around here. I'll have to hop onto my decrepit old laptop and upload some pics later today...

Just picked up some 16 inch "03" (according to seller - I think they're from the 05-06) WRX wheels & tires to throw on my car as a summer set! The lo-pro tires look rather silly w/the outback's high ride height...meatier tires in my future! The wheels look like this:

Today was the last day I was willing to run winters, lol. Would have preferred to get them off sooner but just couldn't find the right wheels!

Last week I threw a CEL on my way to work...took the car in to Turbo Tim's (he's my neighbor!) the next day. Plugs, wires, and the ignition coil. Would have done the work myself if I wasn't busy/lazy/could have read the code, but oh well. I would HIGHLY recommend Turbo Tim's if you need work done. Personable, very quick service, very reasonable prices. I think I'm not telling any of you anything new, tho :)

Thanks to all y'all for the great resource that this forum is! I'll keep lurkin' lurkin' lurkin'...
