So I have only driven my car(98 legacy gt) for about 3 days now, and not very much in those 3 days but I have been keeping my eyes on the temp gauge to make sure everything is ok. The needle has always been in the middle or below.
BUT when I was driving home I noticed the needle was all the way on the H. So I rolled the windows down and blasted the heat. The heat was hot at first then it wasnt HOT(just warm). I havent gotten to take a look at it yet because its 2AM but I did hear the overflow boiling. This same thing happend in my eclipse and I replaced the rad cap and everything was good. Any thoughts on what else it could be?

Since you said the heater wasn't putting out any hot air, and that you heard boiling/coolant spitting into the overflow would lead me to beleive you have an internal leak in a HG.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya though.

I believe this was common place for the 2.5L NA DOHC, if that sounds like your motor, then I'd be looking at new headgaskets.

Its the EJ25 :(. But I went out there today and saw that the upper rad hose was collapsed. When I opened the cap It went back to normal. This led me to believe that its the cap.

AT 250K it probably has had them done at least one time before, so they probably got the updated gasket installed. i would be suprised if it was h/gs again.

I think I might have found the problem. The Main fan fuse was burnt out. I replaced and it burnt again. Now I gotta trace the wires and find where its messed up.
