Hey guys. I've been a way for a little bit since I sold my '04 WRX. I was out for a while, but just put an order in for a white 2016 Outback 3.6R.

I'd like to get the grille, emblems, etc. painted/sprayed/wrapped black. I know a lot of people use that plasti dip stuff, but I'm not sure and would rather just leave it up to a pro. I'd also like to get the chrome around the windows wrapped in black, too.

Anyone have a good recommendation for a local shop that I could talk to about ideas?

Plastidip is pretty easy, just make sure to watch the youtube videos on it and if you have anymore questions you can ask me. Ive dabbled in plaastidip some and between trial and error and youtube its not that difficult

Awesome. Thanks! Do you think it will hold up well on the grille?

No problem. You would have to put at least 4-5 heavier coats on it and see how it goes. I plastidipped my hood of my wrx cause of the rock chips in the paint and I wanted to see how it looked, but I had to touch up parts on it so even with those 4-5 coats you may have to go back and hit it again. Also to get the smoothest finish hold the can as straight up and down as you can unless it cones out kinda grainy and rough. Id experiment with the 4-5 coats and see how they hold up through the winter if youre doing it now. If youre waiting till spring id say take it as it comes and if you have to retouch it up then you have to not a big problem

I plastidipped my grill back in June and it's held up way better than spray paint. There aren't any chips out of it.
