Does anyone know someone/garage/shop who does good minor body work and paint? Not Maaco I hear. I don't know too much about paint work but I think it would need to include sanding/priming/prepping the whole car. So someone who can do all of that without leaving drip marks and overspray would be nice. :) I don't care about the interior door jambs and such.

Ya might want to ask Matt, Russ or Joel... not sure which one but if I recall someone mention about a guy who works at a Hamline Autobody Shop.

I think it's also posted in one of our MN Nasioc forum. Run up a search.

You painting the whole car? Wow, pricey. Unfortunately I don't have any places to recommend. I've only had body work/painting done once, and I don't know how they compare to the competition.

Yes, I'm thinking about it. I have lots of dents and dings and chips and scratches. I am pricing out different things right now. I am also tossing the idea of an engine swap around too. If it figures out that a new paint job and a new/slightly used engine is cheaper than a new car, then that is what I am going to do. ;)

Brad Huber is the guy you want, he has a STI so he is part of the crowd. I have is info at home but if you give them a ring he will help you out.

Are you gonna stick with the same color or do something unique? I saw a thread on NASIOC once where a guy painted his WRX wagon Ferrari grey. Hottest car EVAR.

Hey, my car is kinda greyish now :)
If I had to repaint the entire car I would most certainly go for a unique color though. The only Subaru color I ever liked was the old Blue Ridge Pearl. If I had to repaint the car I'd be looking for British racing green. Now that would be one fugly Impreza :D

If you want to shop around, Newport Collision down in Newport :) is very good.

When my car was vanilized they did the job VERY well, car came back better then it went in, they pulled my 2 door dings for free and did such a fine job you have to look super close to tell the car has been repaired. Now just last week a brought it in again because a freaking SUV backed into my car and dented it...again, perfect job.

On a side note, my family has had 3 other cars over the years brought to them with similar results.

Thanks Shane! Do you know if they do customized paint jobs? I.E. iridescent or Chameleon paint?

If I have the money to do that kind of paint work... I'll rather spend it on making my car go faster... then again, that's me.
