my GF got towed and a parking ticket. I was there and with the snow it was very hard to determine weather it was 5 feet from the driveway or not. This morning I am going there and taking a picture of the driveway.

Since the parking ticket has no name on it, can I go downtown to the hearing officer myself instead of having her take time off work to go? I have free time so for me it's not a big deal?
Should I say I was the one who parked?

I've never done this so any help is appreciated.

If you go there, you're putting your name on the ticket, so if found guilty it's all you.

It would technically be written to the car, so whoever's name is on the title of the car would be liable otherwise.

My Wife had the exact same situation recently. We just decided to just pay the ticket, since she probably was close to the driveway, but filed a dispute over the much larger towing/impound fee based on the fact that it was NOT a safety issue and simply a fundraiser. Still waiting on a response...

even if I state right away that I am there on her behalf

in fact that's the case for me as well. could you please give me more details and how you went about filing a dispute? On the slip they gave me it was written that I could get a refund for towing only through "civil action"

so I called the court and I can't show up on her behalf. They also told me that until they dismiss the ticket I can't ask for a towing fee refund. Now should I just go and say that I am the one who parked? If the ticket is not dismissed will it go on my record? will it increase my premium next time I buy insurannce? I currently have an out of state DL and no car or insurance.

    1. You already told them that it was her. You CANNOT say that you parked it because you already told them.

    2. Parking tickets do NOT go on your record and WILL NOT cause anything on your insurance to go up.
