if I were to but a perrin gt30r rotated setup, injectors, fp, cobb ap v2.0, cat back, fmic, oil catch can.

Is that all I'd need to get started,

or are any of those items not needed to run the gt30r?

you would need a fuel pump also and a custom tune for the AP

Add a clutch to that list, and money a side for new gears ;)

...oh a set of forged pistons might be good too.

yea... well I guess while I'm dreaming...

but really, if I were to put a gt28 or somthing smaller, do you think I could get away with using a tmic?

Trailer unless you can get a base map mailed to you. With the addition of a new intake that will have a huge diameter and larger injectors, the car would either run like complete **** or not even run at all.

I dont think the Perrin kit is designed to run a TMIC, I could be wrong. Look into the UR kit if you want to run a TMIC.

YOu can have the tuner make you a MAP before the tune.

Needed. There's no point in getting a Garret turbo and trying to run less than 22psi with it.

True, but the issue is that the ecu can only control boost up to about 22psi. I haven't checked in a while, but I think the Enginuity guys figured out how to rescale for larger MAP sensors -- I'm not sure if the AP 2.0 can do this or not.

If the wife told "who needs to go to on vacation next year? I'd much rather you spend all out disposable income on your car!" then I would have order it already.

Interesting. So do people have to use an aftermarket boost controller to go over that 22psi threshhold?

so the general feeling is that you either do it right, or wait till you can do it all at the same time. there is no good way to skimp on the supporting parts.

i would even say do supporting mods first before you do the major components

Well, since you have the ap2.0, i would get the map sensor adapter and a new map sensor. Then you can whatever boost your motor is capable of holding. The ap2.0 has map sensor calibrations, so you can run a couple of different sensors and run some monster boost on the stock ecu. It's not so much the ecu thta can't handle it, it is the fact that there is only a 3 bar map sensor on that car, and that is only goof for 22psi. Jump it up to a 5 bar sensor and you are good for 45psi. Boost away.

    Good info.

The problem wasn't with the ecu itself, it's just that until recently, nobody had figured out how to calibrate the ecu to work with a different MAP sensor. :)

On 06 wrx, I would do in this order...

    1) TBE and flash to stg2

1.5) rims/tires, ss brake lines, pads, fluid.

    2) TMIC, and FP and keep stg2 (FP isnt gonna do anything with the ots map, but its so cheap and easy and doesnt really disrupt the ots map on yr car)

2.5) vf39 and bcs if you want to get yr set-up protuned, otherwise do just vf39 and flash cobb ots. I added Forge bpv and header/uppipe at this point. On my 06 wrx, the cobb map (91oct map using 92non-oxy) wasn't knocking horribly or anything. It was running pig rich all over the place and a bit lean right at the ol/cl switch, so I only kept it on the car as long as I had too.

    3) gears

    3.5) suspension

    4) 20g or bigger turbo with supporting mods as discussed.

    ...I only got to 3.5ish

    idget's actual plan of attack:

    1) TBE and Stage 2 flash.

    2) Bling rims, quickly eroding tires (this is important later).

2.5) VF39 and BCS with a protune. Add a Forge bpv and header/uppipe for pshshsshs noise and boxer rubles.

    3) Get depressed and angry at the fact that your rubles are not ruble enough, and try to hit a squirrel in the rain (need bald tires for this). Miss and wreck your car.

    4) Buy a new STi, try for more rubles.

    Or something like that.
