How do I post pictures? I click the insert image icon and the pop-up box requests a URL for the image i want to post. How can I just post an image from my computer files?

I can't get this to work. I've tried using photbucket to upload from URL as well as trying to upload from my computer. The attachment manager doesn't work for me, or am I missing something?

We're getting a couple reports of this lately and will start looking at it as soon as we can.

I see a lot of Photobucket pictures replaced with an image of a frog with some text along the lines of 'Not a registered domain'. I don't know if that's *my* domain that's not registered, the MNSubaru domain, or my ISP's domain. I don't know if that helps or not, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

That can happen when the person deletes their photobucket account or pictures on the account.

Sheen / Russ - I had issues as well, I wasn't able to upload photos from the PC.

    1. Tried uploading on 2 different computers + TapTalk on the phone failed
    2. Tried to rename the files
    3. Saved files as different file in Photoshop
    4. Saved files as WEB GIFs in Photoshop

Finally I uploaded to photobucket and on the 3rd attempt got 3/4 photos to upload.

    This happened....

Click for screen shots Photobucket Error Messages and upload error....
URL Upload + Here is the image link for the picture
    Image from Computer Upload

You can see the images by the links, but i can't upload any of them.

    Hope this helps

I thought photobucket disabled hotlinking of any kind, including the img tag? I could be wrong but as far as I've experienced, the only way to get it to link right is if you view the image, and choose that link, rather than the "link to" one that it gives you ...

I don't use photobucket, flickr or any of those if you can't tell ;)

Steph. I have used photobucket for a while... here, NASIOC and 3Gwrx. Photobucket gives you the option to use a URL, IMG code and one or two others. This forum supported the URL but now gives errors on some files. I can however post these same pics on other forums. Not sure what hot linking is.... I only have used the URL link.

I don't know where this fits in the conversation but, I just posted something using photobucket. I don't know what I did other than copy the IMG code thingy and pasted it.

You can post a picture using the IMG code(i did this too), but uploading it for an avatar, profile picture, or for albums etc. doesn't work(at least for me).

Well, I will look into it this week. My crazy schedule has gone down to a less crazy schedule, so I will have a little extra time to check into it.

When I made my last thread a few things I noticed were that you have to be careful with your file sizes. IIRC .jpg is only a 1mb file size. I think I can bump them up a bit, but at the same time, the larger the pic, the slower it loads for anyone with a slow connection. I always use the img tags and never had a issue.

Also, the VB asset manager is also just a huge steaming pile. I know there is about 150 bug reports on it and a few of those are supposed to be fixed in the next update along with a bunch of new features (new editor). I will do some research and see if it is something that I can even fix or something that VB needs to take care of. But I would definitely try and use the img tags (or the insert a pic icon). You should be able to use any size pic with that and you are also using less of the sites resources.

Uploading works for me now. Not sure if it was because I wasn't using the newest Internet Explorer or not. I upgraded and everything works.
