Picked up a massive nail in the sidewall of the right rear RE92 today. 4500 miles old, ugh. I stopped by Morrie's Mtka since I was close, they were nice enough to put it in the air and throw the spare on for me, but they can't get a tire for 2 BUSINESS DAYS. Firestone dealers can't get it for even longer:emo:

I'm supposed to be driving 2 friends to Chicago this Sunday, and am now stuck on the donut and doubt I'll find a tire in time. Probably have to rent a car. Anyone have a sub-5000 mile RE92 they'd like to sell? ;)

It is an '06 though, so it's a 17" wheel. Anyone have one of those?

Dude, sorry. That's one of the hardest tires to get you hands on. And they suck! You could have spent an extra $75 and got a whole set of Falken Zeix ZE512's. I run them in the winter and they are fun to drive on.

Are you kidding? Why wouldn't you spend a bit more and get 4 new, higher quality tires? Call around, I'm sure you could get a complete set-up ready to go within 4 hours.

I have a 215/45?/17 off my LGT that has a plug in it. You could get a vulcanized patch before mounting. Tire had 9k on it when I took it off. PM me if your interested.

Unfortunately I'm in enough already for this New Year's trip to chicago, and just don't have time or cash to decide on new tires, new wheels for said tires, whether or not to get some winter tires right away, or if it will suck to drive on winter tires for a 1k mile round trip.

$300 is enough to just be done with it and get on the road as expected this weekend. Sucks, because I'd love to play with some new tires as much as anyone else.

you not understanding... you could get almost 4 tires for $300 and although they would be cheap they probably would be better than the stock ones... you complain about the money etc, but then are gonna drop $300 on a peice of crap tire... then you will get NO sympathy dude... people are offering good advice and suggestions (even a subaru technician is) and you dont listen...

I would spend less on the booze on your trip and get GOOD tires.. ha ha

    my .02 worth...

Key word, almost. I would wager that, mounted, any tire selection (remember 17" here) is going to get over $450-500.

A good tire, 215/45R17, for $75 per skin, available locally so I can still make my trip? I honestly don't think that's attainable.

I told you dude, although you already got the tire cause I saw your car in here...

Falken Zeix ZE512's. Directional All-Season that has good tread wear. Next time you need a tire...hopefully not soon...you'll consider these tires.
