As most may already know, I flew to Chi-Town Friday afternoon and picked up a '92 Legacy Sport Sedan. The transaction couldn't have gone better and with a better seller. I drove her home friday night and already love it. The cobra is already out of my memory as my focus is on getting this thing rocking for the winter time with plenty of goodies.

I already have plans for a 5-speed swap and throwing in a buddy's leftover VF22 and gonna fab up a FMIC. I want to make a conservative 230ish WHP in this thing, which I don't think should be too hard.

oh yeah, pics will come soon enough .

p.s. if anyone knows of a good place for the cobra to hibernate through the winter let me know.

the heads need flow. Gotta worry about MAF because the flow is too much and maxes out.

That's what i've heard. That's why I think 230 whp is pretty conservative and is within bounds of the maf and injectors, if not i'll get some n/a legacy fuel rails and STi pink injectors.

Need some DOHC heads eventually as well.

The heads aren't the end of the world. They become more of a factor the bigger you go. They're probably holding me back 50-60hp but with a VF22, its gonna be less. Its a good idea to cover more important bases before worrying about heads.

The MAF sensor maxes out at about 15psi on the VF11. The plastic NA MAF has more headroom, but you need some form of a piggyback to use it.

The stock injectors (370cc) aren't going to support a VF22 either. Get the NA rails (92-94) and you can go with STi injectors if you want something to drop right in, or you can get SR20DET injectors and just change the clips. I went with the Nissan injectors since they can be had for much cheaper in higher flow rates.

Management is going to be your largest challenge. No OpenECU funnybusiness for the SS. There are a few options. You can get the Perfect Power or an Emanage, but there are mixed reviews on them. Derek (white SS with the 30R) is currently using a MAF Translator Pro, with decent results. It runs in speed-density so no MAF issues. You'd need to get the right firmware from the "dude", but it seems to work fairly well, and has integrated boost control.

so the USDM STi injectors will just drop right into the 92-94 NA fuel rails?

Yes all subaru sidefeeds fit into the 92-94 N/A rails, its rather strange.
