OK, for those of you who know about my minor mishap and the resulting damage to my Prodrive muffler...(Todd, I was the one who called you the other night)....here are some pics.

Anyone who is at all familiar with exhaust work take a look and give me your opinion. If it's a doorstop, fine, at least I'll know and won't waste time trying to fix it. But think about what might be done with a torch and a big ol' hammer if that's possible.

Ouch! What's the story? Could the shock that the muffler took probably made it to the turbo? Hopefully you don't have an exhaust leak from it.

No exhaust leaks. Zero chance of this affecting the turbo...all the energy was absorbed by the muffler, my crumpled license plate, and one of the exhaust hangers, which I bent back into position. The stock muffler is on now and everything works fine.

I can get to fit. It just wont be that pretty. :D

I can bend the pipe back (hydraulic pipe bender)and build a new mount (3/8 rod, bender and MIG welder).

    You want function over looks??

Aha, now we're getting somewhere. Yes, I don't give a crap about looks, it's under the car. It still sounds beautiful, and that's what I'm after. I took it to a place in Richfield yesterday to get an opinion, the guy told me he could cut off the pipe, weld a sleeve on, and hammer the one hanger out or weld a new one on....all for an hour of labor. But I'm interested in what a bender could do as well.

Is what you're describing in the ballpark of an hour of labor?

It would be an hour or less of labor.

I just modified a WRX muffler to fit a different application.
Similar methods. Cut, sleeve, weld, new mount.

Sounds good...and even though it's more out of my way I'm willing to let you have a crack at it since you're one of the Subaru homeez. :D

I'll probably be in touch sometime this week to see if we can set up a time.
