Place your bets! Which state is my transmission going to pop

OK, I am going to do a 28 hours stint back to MN from Los Angeles in 2 weeks.


I am running a EJ205 on my STOCK RS TRANSMISSION! It was this combination that was said to have downed the hindenberg and assassinated kennedy.



Now it's time for YOU, the wonderful people of MN subaru to place a bet on which state my transmission is going to grenade itself.


Payout will occur @ firestone late august/early september.

The RS tranny holds better than the WRX...so i say it won't break.

 

You will put put some money on that??!

 

almost nothing can be worse than an 02-03 rex tranny.

 

from what i have heard the RS tranny is almost if not the exact same as the WRX tranny. so w/ a stock wrx engine you should make it.

 

maybe wagonl still has that type RA tranny for trade

 

The final drive is shorter on the RS tranny. It'll hold up; it did with mine when I made my journey from Fresno, CA to MN.

 

Depends on how you drive.

So much confidence on the RS tranny. I like it....

 

The gearing on the RS is shorter than the WRX, and ALSO the final drive helps relief some stress. The strength of BOTH trannys are not much different. the '03 WRX tranny's 1-2nd gear were widen to Type RA width, as well as the Foresters (lucky you Fong).

Drive it well and you won't break it. I put 400whp in 1st gear!
