Obviously walk Michigan and I strongly encourage going to navy pier. Navy Pier has fireworks at night. Swing by Millenium Park for sure, the bean is really cool and so is the fountains there. As far as staying I would suggest Michigan Ave but anywhere in the city is nice. Dont be scared to use the train to travel around, it is really easy and can get you anywhere. I would say try and see a game at wrigleyville, buy some cheap bleachers tickets if you can. I say dont see the white sox cause they suck and I hate them, TWINS FOR LIFE!! Any other questions about chicago just let me know and if I can't answer em, I should atleast be able to point you in the right direction.

+1 on navy pier. I went down for HIN a few years ago and spent a few days wandering the city. Navy pier was a hot spot and some shopping area "miracle mile" or something like that, When we were ther Jay-z and some of his posse were dipping in and out of some of the stores.

Check out the Science Museum and the new U-505 exhibit. It's amazing what they did with it, the entire exhibit has been redone and the entire sub is now inside. The tours inside are much, much better than they used to be. Gold Coast Bentley is over on Michigan Ave by the Old Water Tower, one of the landmarks left after the great Chicago fire, both of those are worth checking out. The Sears Tower is great if the weather is good, as is the John Hancock building.

I've only been there once - for 12 hours, but those were some of the best hours that I've ever had. We asked some hot waitress [edit - this was some fancy steak house on the 2nd floor of a building down town that advertized "American food & Drinks"] where to go, and she advised a couple of REALLY awesome bars in the "uptown" of chicago. We saw Helium spinning records before they signed. It was friggin AMAZING!

I wish I could remember names, but we may or may not have had a few too many beerz at Dave and busters before hand. The one there is NOTHING like the one here.

    Good luck, and have fun!

I proposed to my wife at the end of navy pier one evening. sappy i know. We liked nay pier, House of blues is cool. If you are an old SNL fan the bar where the cheezborger skit was based on is a cool place to go good food and beer. Its in underground chicago. Below Michigan avenue.

    SNL Skit:

Location: Under Michigan drive just north of the chicago river. Kinda wierd to find but cool.

this is a fun place...because it's a total dive, and under the street. Has pretty good greasy food. I want to say it's called the Billy Goat Tavern. Ok, now that I actually watch the video, it is the Billy Goat...
