Getting a vf39, Sti TMIC, modded stock injectors. So i have a question. I need some kind of a base map to get me a safe tune. I am thinking about getting an xpt map and going from there. But all of their maps call for sti pinks. I figure there will be a difference between moded stockers and pinks. So what should i do? where to get a base map that will suit my future set up? Thanks, Taras
You'll need a custom tune. what are the injectors rated at? The tuner will need to know what your injectors are rated at, blah blah, you know the rest
yes, you will need the map to be set for your injectors also, or you won't be idling right, be flooding your engine with gas check your pm
Either ask one of the members to make you a safe map or ask your tuner to make you a safe map to run on before the tune. I know WRX1 (Russ) is buisy these days, but he made me a base map when I got new injectors and turbo.
Tip for you Taras After watching your porn vids, please have patience with doing the injector install, don't want nothing to go wrong, do you?
meh, I dont live in Roseville anymore either. You did the inlet yourself right? You've done sparkplugs before right? Injectors won't be too hard for you. Holler if you need to borrow tools... and before you even ask... NO, I am not touching your dirty Russian green brackets of death.
^^^ I heard his Green Bracket of death, is hooked to some explosives underneath his car, russian mob style or something.
well, think that progect will take me a very long time to do. I guess my plan is this: will get the harder to get things right way and later get the rest. Turbo and IC first, then Injectors after that splitter and scoop, and fuel pump.
none of that stuff if hard to get. That is one reason why so many people go this route... (relatively) cheap and easy power that's still reasonably safe.
The splitter and scoop, don't need it right away but would be a great mod for the whole project. Injectors, Turbo, & Intercooler are a must. I've heard some ran it with their stock fuel pump, but might as well upgrade that while during the whole swap.
yeah what i am going to do is get turbo and intercooler this week and right way install the intercooler just for the hell of it. and in a moth or so get a fuel pump and install that. closer to the sumer will get injectors and install them. So can i just through 600cc injectors at my car right now and still run it or it will run like ****? I am pretty sure it will not even run but i still ask.
flood your engine = cylinder wash, from what I was told. LOL ask fuji about running his 830cc on a map tuned for 565cc.
can't run sti injectors in your car sti pinks, sure, but not the regular side-feed injectors just look for pinks, vf39, intercooler, get a regular base map for that, that is out there.
Why don't you just do it right and wait till you have all the pieces of the puzzle? Do you really wanna pay for someone to tune your car everytime you put a new part on? Think about it Taras, your car more than likely goes plenty fast as it is to get you speeding tickets/in trouble. Why not get every bit of the puzzle before you start throwing parts on it that weren't meant to be in it? Also Scuba Steve did his 16G all by himself one Saturday (very patient man) and it took him pretty much all day to do it. Now I'm not trying to be an ass just coming from another point of view from everyone else.
Yeah, thats what i meant. You dont need a tune with sti tmic and the fuel pump. Its pretty much optional. So i will leave the big stuff till later. wth what?
