I'm not sure if there is anyone that knows a lot about the PS3 systems/how to fix them, but all the things I've looked up have been no help yet... Whenever I play movies, weather it is streaming or a physical DVD/BlueRay, the PS3 will cut out on the TV and go black, or pixelated, and will do that throughout the whole viewing. A few points to note: - All system software is updated. - It is connected by nice Monster brand HDMI cable (seem likes a solid connection) - Settings for resolution are at 1080, which the TV is compatible for. Any trouble shooting would be greatly appreciated! - J
Mine used to do that now and again, I would just do a reset, unplug the hdmi cords and blow them out and then it would be good for a while!
I replaced the HDMI cable and all better. I learned from a friend that even high quality cable still fail( go out) after a while. How long have you had your cable?
It worked! It's only been about 1.5 years. I will probably pick up a new one soon but that helped for now! Thanks fellas!
I have had similar situations with my audio/video. I have now switched all my wires HDMI,speaker wires, sub woofer and power cables over to Audio quest. They are expensive but have made a huge difference.
I only suggest it because we had a PS3 in our house go on the fritz in a similar manner. Pulled it out of the entertainment center and it was caked in cat fur.
I have vacuumed my ps3 and computers vents, I'd be nervous to blow the dust deeper inside. Just my .01 cent opinion.
Bump from the dead... since the last posting, I vacuumed the back of the PS3 and bought a new Monster HDMI cord, which seemed to solve the issues. Now today, I went to turn it on, and it is no longer showing up on my components list on the television. I have unplugged and replugged, restarted systems, and the TV, etc, to no avail. Any new ideas? I already threw the idea out for a PS4....that did not go as well as hoped...
I meant more so as a replacement to the PS3. I swapped out cords again and it seemed to work fine. All is fine, with Netflix clearly streaming
Which cable did you switch, the HDMI? It seems odd that the cable would fail that quickly. Is the cable bent or stressed?
Corrosion on the connectors that cable swapping temporarily disturbs thus creating a good connection??
Speaking of PS3's and going on the fritz, mine gave me the YLOD at least a year ago and has been sitting as a brick ever since. Tried reflowing the board with new no-clean flux and it powered on for about 30 minutes, not enough to do a full backup however. Anyone know a reputable place to get it re-balled in the cities or near/around rochester? If so please PM it to me, I don't come on the boards much and I'm sure I will forget I even posted this.... -Steve
there's got to be somewhere here in Rochester that will do that... Too bad Nabil isn't around, he would know
my old ps3 ylod. i was able to reflow the board with a heat gun and i worked for a good amount of time. You can always remove the HD and put it into another. I may sell my ps3 if you need another.
