Police Officers of the Law

Okay. I just have a quick question to ask.

WHY HAVENT I BEEN PULLED OVER YET?

I know this sounds very silly, but coming from my background of cars, (lifted jeep, 300whp talon tsi) I really dont understand it. I'm a younger guy, driving around without a front license plate on a sporty car with aftermarket exhaust thats obviously lowered. I have tallied up 13 cops that I have driven past in the last 4 nights, all of which I have seen at past 1:00am. I havent been radared, followed, even looked at twice (if they even looked once to start with).

The car is a 99 aspen white 2.5rs coupe, magnaflow exhaust, eibach's, v5 front grill, coupe spoiler, and is debadged (really the only asthetic stuff). I dont speed, and I dont make stupid moves out on the roadways, so I'll give myself +1 for that.

I'm not complaining at all (actually I love it) its just an interesting thing to feel ignored by officers.

Huh.

I guess what I'm getting at is, is this a common thing?

 

thats me.... I got pulled over once... late at night speeding in a 30 zone downhill.. got a warning... wrx was stock bar the tint... now with the way it looks, louder exhaust, 19's etc I have never been pulled over.. as stated in another post I even overtake them at times ont he highway and they look, I smile and they ignore me...?!??!?!!!!

 

with the talon, honestly you deserved to get nailed every 10 sec. I seriously got pulled over almost once a week in my gti and your talon was crazy and looked like the batmobile on crack. As far as your rs goes, it looks relatively stock, especially to the standard police officer, although I havent been pulled over yet either so we can keep livin the good life...

 

Yeah the talon was something else. I really wish I had taken some pictures of it at night.

 

i agree, i only have been pulled over once in my suby, and that was when i had the gay rice lights. even when im goin 15+ over the limit, they dont even look at me twice, and my exhaust isnt exactly legal, with its flame shooting and terrible rasp.

 

I got pulled over my first night with the RS. Driving it home from picking it up in Des Moines. Stupid tail light out. Never since then though. Knock on wood.

 

dont jinx yourself. I think the stock imprezas (GC style) dont stand out too much, so if you arnt doing stupid stuff the officer might pass you off for a geo prism with a scoop.

the first time i got pulled over in like 2 yrs was right after i put on my exhuast and gold wheels. low key is the way to go imo.

If you want to feel more 'love' from law enforcement all you have to do is drive up France Avenue or York Avenue in Edina just once. I promise they WILL stop you to say HI...and a few other things....

 

You definitely have to be on your best behavior in an STi. The wing(s)/scoop/gold wheel combo makes you stick out pretty bad.

 

I call my paint "stealth silver". On a WRX wagon I have felt fricken invisible . .. . I even made a crazy, mad dash to 35 turning left onto Lake in Uptown tonight (picture those crazy dudes that parallel park by sliding sideways into a spot, but at speed) just a block from a cruiser’s nose & he took no interest.

No complaints here, the WRX Wagon is so stealthy the insurance company I am with gives me the lower 2.5 N/A insurance rate.
