saw this on another forum. A good use of the Panamera platform. A big GT car to compete with the ferrari 599, Aston DB9 etc. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpressnews/244090/reborn_porsche_928_is_fronting_up.html initially to come with a turbo or N/A V8, generating 500 or 400 hp respectively. but I like the hybrid. using a supercharged, 369hp Audi V6 to accompany the electric motor
its nice, but i wish it was more like the old one. its to big and just looks like a xk8 or db9, and their are a lot of gt cars like that. i want a 944 or 924 replacement. something with a smaller engine, more nimble and affordable. remember those days? oh the 80's... so many cheap exotics.
i lol'd. If they make a wide body version, I'd take a set of the 5-spokes tho! I like the exterior styling, but if Porsche wants to seriously compete with Bentley like the article suggests, they're gonna have to do a WHOLE LOT more than just wrap the dash and door cards in leather. Current Porsche interiors are nice but Bentley interiors are on a whole 'nother planet.
I've always wanted a 944/924 too, a lot of people think they look hideous for a Porsche but I disagree.
Does anybody notice or realize that these are photo-shopped? Its pretty obvious Under re-examination it is terribly obvious, this is a joke
Yeah, the panamera styling is meh... but the commercials are fantastic! there's even a bugeye wagon in there
I love the S4. I just love that the smaller engine used in the hybrid version is an S4 motor PLUS an electric. figure that out on your own? it's not a real car yet. they're concept drawings just like the toyobaru. doesn't mean it's a joke. meh. not really. a 3.6l (I think the smallest available) flat six is not a small engine, and a boxster is not a small car. not like a 914, 924, 944, or even a 928. I have zero hope to ever see much in that way again, just too difficult to make something that small and simple, but still conform to modern crash tests, and american creature comfort demands. although boxsters are getting cheap.
mini cooper But yeah, another 2 seater or 2+2 wouldn't sell or at best would eat into boxster/cayman sales. A front engine GT Porsche would be a great addition to the line-up. As well as a Carrera GT RSR  Chux, the boxster is a 2.7/3.2 or 2.7/3.4 or 2.9/3.4 (or 2.5 1st gen).
If they actually made that, it'd be the best looking porsche in years. EDIT: excluding the Carrera GT...
I actually don't like the looks of the CGT. At all. I would love one, but they're not as gorgeous as the 8C or even a Koggegnggigggsgeggg.
The guy I bought my STI from bought a Porsche Caymen. He said that the STI pulled harder up to 3rd gear.
that commercial had a bugeye wagon in the backround at 1:19, at least someone in the bunch drives a real car, hahah!
lol yeah I watched the video just to find the bugeye, but it WAS a pretty sweet clip. They should make more commercials like that.
I have a 2.7l in mine, the S model in my year has the 3.2l, current models have the 3.0l/3.4l sizes. Curb weight of about 3000 pounds. The 924 performance sucked. The 914 was a Volkswagon. Your small engine/size requirement is out the window with a 928, it has a 5l v8 and weights 3400 pounds. What are you looking for, a Miata? Boxster is all that and more without the rainbow sticker. And as pointed out getting cheaper. You can buy one for the price of used WRX now.
I like the ass end shot. That reminds me alot of a Aston Martin. The 3/4 front shot looks pretty good as well. Although from the sides I am not impressed. I think it might just a bit too streamlined for my taste. I like scoops, wings, vents, lines, and unaerodynamic Subarus ;-)
From a real exotic company, 4 doors, the Gallardo's motor at 560 whp and looks that make porche designers dream of coming up with something original, the porsche above does look a bit like the ferrari. and in case no ones noticed, imo all the other porche's look the same, it doesn't look good and its gotten old. http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/01/pariss-preview-four-door-lamborghini-estoque-unofficially-reveal/
That was Zaks opinion too. Yep sure do look the same, don't have to get all carnarded out angley straight lined front smiley faced to be a hot car imho. me too and Porsches that look like Porsches
hey Dynapar if your looking for scoops wings and vents check this out its got more scoops then a Baskin-Robbin's!! (the non convertible does anyway) and just look at that shifter! EXXXTREEEEEEEMME! its available in the citys too! you can go ogle at it here http://www.maseratiofminneapolis.com/used_car_details/2006/Spyker/C8 Spider/BU10170/ bring your check book though, idk if they'd accept the Original MSRP of $296,785 in small bills.
mid engine is good for precision driving but the reason i want a modern day 944 is the light weight front engine sideways stuff.
Porsche is an exotic company? I always though of them as an independent company that prides themselves on winning races and their racing heritage. I like the timeless look of pretty much all the 911's, but that's not why I bought mine... it's a wonderful platform out of the box, has a TON of mod potential, and I can actually count on the warranty for once. I think the return of the 928 would be a good addition to the line-up... same with the boxster spyder and the possible H4 base model boxster... more fleet sales and better fuel economy means more money for better R&D for the rest of the line-up.

I'm impressed with the boxster spyder annoucement. Cayman S engine and a couple hundred pounds lighter. Nice! However it will be years before I can afford one. I would love a drive in your new ride.
