Possible Tune May 5 w/Jorge (RiftsWrx) -Not Happening Jorge (RiftsWRX) tentatively has May 5 open to fly to Minneapolis for the day. His usual charge is $200 per car for 2 hours tuning. There would also be dyno cost (which I am still negotiating). The trip charge to pay for Jorge's ticket is only $40. So $240 + dyno cost. Dyno is RS Motorsports in Burnsville, which has time available on 5/5 at least as of 4/20 (last checked). I need two additional people interested in getting a custom tune. Yes I know this is short notice, but Jorge is booked the rest of May and early June, so May 5 is it. I also know there is already a tune session by Clarke Turner May 5-6 at LSE, which is full. I also know it's the first autox. I would have preferred to have Jorge come later. Let me know if you are seriously interested. I plan to do this or drive to Chicago if it does not work out. If I don't have two committed folks in the next few days, I'll give up since it will be difficult to pull this off given the timeframe. The dyno could book up or Jorge could get another request. Hmmmmm. I was gonna go up to lse to hang, but a tune for two bills may be tempting. I'll need more definative details.
Clark will be here till 10pm Sunday night, he will have plenty of time to do some road tunes, no reason to bring another tuner up on the same weekend :roll:
I think he will be charge $100 per hour for a road tune, meaning tuning on the road not the dyno. I encourage people who need tunes to show up just because there is always somebody who will drop last minute, somebody who will have car problems and not be able to get tuned and people who will finish early.
That's very cool that Clark will be doing road tunes so late. Thanks for the info Dream. If things do not work out with Jorge, I may be interested in doing a road tune. I did not see many details about the road tune possibility. Is there a sign up list for that? As far as the proposed Jorge tune, RS Motors has us "penciled in" for May 5. We can get dyno time at $100/hr, though I was hoping to deal for less. It's hard to deal when I'm only a maybe. If Jorge takes two hours on the dyno it will be $240 + $200 (dyno) = $440 total. I need to finalize this by Tuesday 4/24 or it will not happen. So unless we get 2 people saying "I really want a Jorge tune and I'll commit", then this deal is over. That may be for the best if Clarke can tune every car that shows up at LSE.
As far as I'm concerned this is a NO-GO. While the road tune with Clark is tempting, I've decided to the drive to P&L next week and get tuned by Jorge. I just cancelled the tentative appointment at RS Motors for 5/5 and made an appointment with Jorge.
