hey guys! Yah, thats her alright. Pretty banged up but getting there. Picked her up from south TX, no hurricane damage, but lots of door dings, and a good run in with a concrete post at a gas station.

She's got an 01 rear end, lots of battle scars (most of which are fixed), and some little mechanical things here and there that are giving me a TON of trouble.

mainly my MAF system which = a P.O.S.

If anybody wants to swing by, feel free. I'm working on her most every day. And yes, thanks goes out to dynapar, who has in several instances saved me from spending needless amounts of time on stupid little things.

^^methodless, pm me with what you've got up for sale,I've got a laundry list I'm slowly pulling together.

Check the wtt section as well. I'm interested in what I can get for my silver 5 spokes, my xcceleration.com 2.5'' catback in great shape, and also, I would LOVE to trade my tein s techs for a set of eibach pro kit springs.

I plan on having her ready to rock and roll before the snow falls.

I'll also write a more detailed response on what I plan on doing with the car, etc. tomorrow night when I dont have to go to work by 7am the next day.

Gotta make some cash to put into her.

What color do you guys think I should go with? I'm set on aspen white but every time I see a rbp I get a little excited. Im not 100% sure about white.

Silver is the most logical choice because it will blend in with the original paint.

you guys convince me. I dont have my mind made up.

uh oh, this means that the car didnt make it into paint today.

i like the white idea. that championship white with the blue pearl was a hot color. I personally like darker colors, although i am not a huge fan of RBP. that Z4 grey is cool. or british racing green or sonic blue!

I vote for hot pink! :p Actually, aspen white would be a good color for the car. The Z4 grey wouldn't be a bad choice either :)

haha, nope. The car is still giving me hell with the MAF. I'm going to run to minnetonka soob tomorrow and see if I cant pick up just the sensor and the harness. I need to get her running smoothly before I'd be okay with bringing it in for paint. I think i'm kind of decided on white now. Its just that given so many options, its almost impossible to not change your mind constantly.

Make it some Cadillac Pearl White..heheheh
Yes, those '99 MAF's suck. After mine died a few times, I just went back to the good'o PAPER FILTER. It's been fine with paper filter. You need the harness? Is yours chopped up? I still have my '99 MAF. I don't think I need it anymore because I'm running with some EJ22T stuff now. I'll later be putting in a WRX harness.

Oh geeze. I made my final choice on paint today. After seeing a few wrx's drive past me on the roads, I am going to be going with WRB. Final answer.

I know its not a stock color for the gc8, but is still a subaru paint, and thats why I like the idea of it. It isnt flashy or bright like rbp, and is a much more subaru color than aspen white.

After a good long 30 minute stare contest with my car, I realized she's never going to be "clean" enough to pull off the white. She'll always have a few dents that white paint wont hide well, and I just like gravel too much.

When I had my black rs, I always wished I had rbp, as it is just the trademark subaru color, but after looking at one in person, it just didnt do it for me.

It will set the car apart just enough for an enthusiast to notice. To all that gave suggestions, thanks a bunch.

I'm looking forward to exchanging waves and peace's, once I get this maf sorted out.

yeah, if he could hook me up with those parts that would rock. I stopped by and talked to mark at collision and color today, he's gonna troubleshoot the car as I've lost patience. His comment is you get the parts, and we'll get her running.

I pulled the maf to try to get the car back into safe mode so that I could bring it over to show him whats been happening. It idled high and killed after reaching 1k rpm, so I pulled the harness out, clipped the wires, and taped them all off thinking maybe there was a bad connection internally. Its still doing the same thing, and i've still got the safemode rev limiter at 3.5k. Its just driving me crazy, and im too frusterated to work on it. I'm afraid I might throw a fit and break something, so might as well do a hand off just to get past this maf problem.

Oh, and tires wise, I'm gonna rock the 15'' steelies with winter tires for the thick stuff, and that set of wheels from the bugeye on my 5 spokes. Will set me up with a sick deal on them.

I'll shoot you a call martin, uhh, I worked until 4 today, am going to get to discount tire and have some steelies thrown into those blizzaks, and then I'll be at the gym from 6-730ish. After that I'll be done.

Tomorrow, I'm taking a day off of my job in hopkins, and will be doing a few hours at my other job here in mound. I can always dip out of work as I just setup my own hours there anyways.

Mark is trying to find me a MAF harness, but if that doesnt work out hopefully fuji has one, and if not, I can try the stealership.

I'll give you a call later tonight.

Have you seen that brp RS thats over across from bank of the lakes in navarre? that thing is FLAWLESS. same year as mine too. he passed me on 15 today, so I got to see it in action. guy was probably mid 40's, and it was 100% stock so I dont think he'd be on here.

what are opinions on painted sideskirts vs not.

I figure I would leave mine unpainted because of the chipping, and also I happen to like the two tone look.

BTW your car will die after about 4 seconds if the maf is disconnected, or bad...its really common, i would suggest getting a junkyard one for 12 bucks like i did for a backup. because if its the old style its upwards of 300+ dollars here at the dealer. newer ones are cheaper, and the only way to get the harness is to buy the whole engine harness $$$$$ pm me if you need actual prices on anything.

    Just an update:

Got the entire engine harness ripped out and the new one installed, am going to buy the maf sensor in about an hour. Hopefully I'll have her running tonight.

Then all I've got left to do mechanically is get the eibachs in and get her on the ground!

    after that, off to paint!

Got the maf in, she runs/idles, just not very smoothly. martin and I decided that it just needs to get out and be driven around a bit so that it can remap itself.

The eibachs are in now, and I am trying to make up my mind on if its going into paint first, or if I'm going to run it down and have the exhaust work done first.
