I recently had an Invidia Divorced Wastegate DP installed. I am running the Cobb Stg 2 LWG 91 Octane map on my AP. About a week and a half after the downpipe got installed the car started doing weird things around full boost in 4th-6th gears. The car seems to get kind of jerky as it gets up to full boost. I was driving in 6th and downshifted into 5th and stepped on the gas and the car just kinda sat there jerking - it was accelerating but not where it should've been for full boost. Is anyone familiar with the LWG maps? Is that the map trying to protect my engine and that's why its doing this? Also the car when the boost starts seems to be making a new noise on the drivers side of the engine bay(sounds like I have an intake on each side). Are there lines on the drivers side that could leak or is it possible my stock bov can't support the boost I'm running? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
as for you boost 'problem' in 6th gear....you said you are hitting a little over 1 bar in 6th right??...well thats perfectly normal i believe. as for your air whooshing problem, there is a lot of air getting sucked it and thrown out now...you have firewall holes down by your feet and you will here the air through those.
Oh come on, this is not a "the engine is louder" issue... Did you miss the part about it jerking under WOT? Did you read that it took ~1.5wks before it was an issue? Sorry man, can't help you, I am running a Stealthback and I ported the turbo....no problems, yet. [cross fingers] I peak just a tad over 17psi in 6th.
I totally hear you Justin but the fact is 5th gear at full boost and the car is hardly moving forward at all, my RS would've taken the STI at that speed if my car is running correctly. My car right now as is is faster at half boost than it is at full boost. Edit - for Chin...driftin240 said my car was peaking at 18.3 when he installed my dp. I do have a gutted intake which explains the passenger side noise but now there is noise coming from the drivers side as well.
no i didnt miss it. however i did ride in his car on the highway going through every gear for about 20 minutes two days ago and it ran quite smooth, no jerking at all. so who knows...log it.

I tried reseting the ecu last nite and re-installing my real time map and the other noise is still there and the boost weirdness is still there.
if its coming from in front of you maybe your bov is being poopy pie, borrow someones and see if it makes it any better edit: BUT LET SOMEONE ELSE PUT IT ON PETE!
Could be...I'm still wondering though if it isn't the map, I'm going to try to put the regular stage 2 on tonite and see if that changes things. Being the extra noise is coming from the other side I am suspecting the BOV or some kind of boost line. My first suspect is the map so as soon as I can get my AP to a computer I'll try the non LWG stg2. But once the boost is really going the gauge reads around .1 and stays there but it almost feels and sounds like its dumping the boost straight out of the engine.
I want you to check your intercooler pipes. And also, I have a stock BPV you can use if you think yours is sh!tting the bed. Bring your car by this evening and I can take a peek at it. Call my cell phone 651 249 1108
Sweet, thanks dude. I'm off at 6 so I'll give you a call. We can go for a ride first and see what your assessment is on this and then we can go from there.
Check the recirculation hose on the BOV. If that is loose or not connected then you will get a new noise from the drivers side. ~Dan
Problem Solved! One leaking and one disconnected ic hose will cause issues. It happened on the curb of my parents driveway as I was either pulling in or heading out of their house. I'm sure because it didn't make the noise on the way over and it did when I left. One of the hoses had oil on it which caused it to wiggle out from under the clamp that was holding it when the ic moved a little bit. Thanks for the help driftin240 and thanks Jason for the offer! We'll have to go for another cruise Justin cuz its a $hit ton faster again.
Those plastic IC hoses are a PITA! Silicon is probably better. A little bit of oil in the IC hoses is normal, I believe. ~Dan
Yeah, a bit of oil is normal, especially if your pushin more boost than normal. The seals in turbos can only hold back so much, and under extreme pressures and really high rpm's they will leak a bit! O-well, I'm glad I could fix it Pete!
