What else am I missing beside the Utec and Mapswitch unit? Port Stock Turbo: Matt S. Motorsport $$$$$ Matt, if you're available that is? Anything else? Header? Handling Mods: Spring: JDM Version 8 STi Pink STi (aka Groun N) Harden Strut Top Mount Combo:$639.00 through http://racecompengineering.com/product-susp1.htm Anti Lift Kit:? Sway Bar: Front and Rear? I'll be taking my time to install these unit through the course of this winter, if I have another car to run by than... if not... I'm going to shelf this project for awhile. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.
You guys have no idea how Vic drives! Were coming home from BIR after a full day of watching SCCA-LOL VIPERS, NASCAR'S and Vintage cars go around the track anywhere from 120mph to 170mph. And some how we ended up doing some speed testing on the way home at about 145mph. Boy was I scared! Besides this summer was not the usual warm summer we are use to having.
white line has good anti lift kits, also a bigger rear sway bar like a 21-24 adjustable...whiteline, cobb, cusco has some.
If you don't plan to run a stiffer setup, IMO I think getting larger whiteline swaybars front and rear would help a lot. You may need stronger brackets that hold the swaybar mount onto the chassis. I think whitline sells those as well....maybe not.
I think Matt's got a Cusco or APR front strut bar. I'm not sure if he's running anything for the rear. Matt, what's your take on the handling of your car at MAM with your current setup? Thanks for the feed back guys... Noah, SS Brake line is also going to be part of my brake upgrade. I'm waiting for Russ next Group Buy on Brakes to take adventage of slotted cryoed rotors on all four, plus brake pads.
Vic: tbe and utec, your good there. The problem is that the stock injectors are maxed out. Any further boost will require larger injectors. IMHO injectors are a must! "What's listed on the web site doesn't seem to be complete. What else am I missing beside the Utec and Mapswitch unit?" Tuner Stock turbo PNP of course I will do that. Headers? if you want to spend the money sure. But if your not going full out I would say port match the stockers and maybe send them out to be coated. I would coat the downpipe as well. That should run under 200.00 Handling: Springs and top hats and ALK are all good. The problem is the back of the car is like a marshmellow! IMHO: A rear sway bar and heavy duty mounts are a good step. Before I would do anything with a front bar I would get the rear sorted out. I would look at whitelines Lateral links and ladder bars to relpace the pathetic stock pieces. And look at a diff locking kit or replacing as many bushings back there as you can. M

My time at MAM was ok but the tires I have are not track friendly.

IIRC subaru has a grp N bushing kit I think it is pricy. There are others but I need to find the info
I think energy suspension has a COMPLETE bushing kit. I think it is every bushing in the car. I will do some digging again to see if I can find it. I would definitly set up the injectors, with the utec it is easy to dial back the fuel and you will be good to go. Even on the stock turbo, and if you plan on a little bit bigger turbo, the injectors are still good. Russ
Awesome! Russ thanks for that piece of info. on the Energy Suspension. I have heard of them and was hoping that if I was to look for a full set, Energy Suspension would have the setup I'm looking for. Makes me all quizy knowing that I can get bigger injector and control it using the Utec. Would that also help with my MPG since I can control the flow of gas? well it also depends on my driving style of course. Fitting a bigger turbo (homer drool) in later w/o replacing the new injector after the upgrade is a plus. Injector recommendation? I know I won't be going there for awhile until I run the stock turbo down to it's last breath... through normal driving that is

So lets say at idle it has a .12ms PW to get 14.7 with 480 cc injectors. Lets say it shoots 5cc's to get that 14.7. Now you go with a larger injector lets say 810cc'c now the PW needed to get the 14.7 AFR will be .06ms to deliver the same 5cc's of fuel to get the 14.7 AFR Make sense? Where you will see a gain in mileage is when you are on boost all the time since the car runs rich we can pull the extra fuel to get to the target AFR we descide.
quote:
Originally posted by yosmiley Fitting a bigger turbo (homer drool) in later w/o replacing the new injector after the upgrade is a plus.
