I've been looking at both brands and can't really find any major differences besides each has had their fair share of problems in early stages of development. I was wondering if anyone had first had experience with either type of set-up and which they prefered. I'm looking at the maddad v1's and prosport basics, both of them don't have any warning lights or gizmos like that. Should I spend the extra $$ for warning lights? I'll be putting them in an ATi pod which is kinda pricey so I want to keep the budget of the gauges (boost oil pressure and egt) under $200.
I'm going to chip in here from experience. Spend the extra cash and buy nice gauges from the start, you'll be much happier with your purchase. I will let you know how the Maddad v2 Clarity gauges work out when I install them, they should arrive today.
I've got $300 or so to spend on 2-3 gauges and a pod, is the egt really needed? I'm trying to get by with maybe only 2 gauges and boost and oil presure seem to be the most useful and if I use an autometer bezel pod it'l save me $150 that I can spend on suspension.
Not a big fan of anything autometer, I eventually just got sick of the non factory/ricy look and threw down on some defi's but if thats not in your range look into the prosport or maddads, I don't have experience with them but they look damn nice
found this just after i read this thread... http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1244704&highlight=perrin+downpipe
i have the maddad V1 EGT gauge. i never installed the sensor (oops) but i had the guage plugged in for about 8months lol. it worked just fine. i wired it into the cigarette lighter with now problems. IMO warning lights are overrated. just make sur eto look at you gauges every now and then and you will be fine.
do you still have your old autometer gauges? Did you liked the way they worked? sounds like it was an apperance issue more than anything that you did not like...
well right now the prosports are winning out due to their price and that way I can get all three egt oil pressure and boost and the ati pod for under $300.
