So yesterday I had to give back KimmiGT's 05 legacy 2.5GT...Boo!:emo: After driving it for 5 days I fell in love with that car, seems like more torque throughout the rpm range plus it's nice and quiet! (It's stage 1 Cobb):yumyum: (below is on a closed course....FYI) So, after she picked it up we had a little fun and I was following about five feet directly behind her rear bumper. When she shifted from 2nd to 3rd I noticed a big puff of something came out of her tail pipes. Question Is that just excess fuel being dumped because she is running an OTS map from Cobb and probably running rich? BTW- I thought her car was faster than mine, but it's not, they are virtually the same from a dig.
what color was this puff? we need more info on the puff to diagnos it. it could be extra fuel, could be oil, water vapor, many things.
I'm cobb stage 2 with up-pipe. She is stage 1. color of the mysterious puff? couldn't tell ya fur sure, but I can tell you it wasn't white, wasn't blue. More like a vapor. I think it's unburnt fuel (cobb OTS runs rich), but I wanted to make sure, because she is only stage 1 with stock exhaust including cats and I've never seen that on a car with stock exhaust and cats.
ya, that is normal. When they run a little on the rich side they will start to puff a little black out the pipes. if it is a auto, it will do it for sure. Russ
Are you sure that there actually was a PUFF of something? Or are you just sad to have to give me back my car? Still wanna trade?
LOL......yeah, your car is about to die, I'll take that trouble off your hands...we better trade asap.
