Ok I think I am going to become a full convert. No more half a$$ing it. I think I am going to try to trade the Saabaru in on a 2004 WRX Wagon, 5sp with 31k miles. Here is how I think I will approach it...you tell me if I have a chance or offer advice.

They are asking 18,900 for the WRX. KBB lists my car at 20,800.

My goal is to pay NOTHING. I want to ask them to pay to make the car a Subaru CPO thus extending the warranty. Is the CPO worth it? OR should I tell them to give me parts credit and order the gauge pack, STI Pink Wagon Springs and a bigger sway bar?

    Things to look out for?

Here is a link to the car:

The Saabaru is a 2.5 naturally aspirated. I am looking for a turbo.

That's a good choice. Go for it.
The dealer will offer you a super low trade-in... something around the ballpark of $16,000. What you can do is to be tough about it. If they don't want to work with you, then tell them you have another WRX that you're looking at at a different dealership. You know, in order for there to be a sale, both parties have to agree on a medium. If they don't meet your satisfication, let them know.

ah, I assumed you had the aero. It depends how much those GM rebates affected the resale and if the dealer uses that against you.Weren't the linears selling for well under 20k new for awhile?

Honestly I would stretch it a bit more try to get yourself into an 06 TR, 2.5+turbo, best of both :)
