Question about ext. temp gauge

    ok ..i think u guys know my car was overheating before...so some people open the cap and let the coolent float out ....but somehow my ext temp gauge's needle is bouncing crazy when its below 4 . but works fine while driving. any guys have any clues, is there coolent in the wire or ??

    Why did people let the coolant flow out? Where did it flow to? Did you see it come into contact with the exhaust sensor wires? There are too many variables here to diagnose over the internet with that little information.

    What!?!?! I thought your car was at the dealership for the overheating problem. didn't you get them to fix it?

    I have no idea, it was here last week and he couldn't wait so he took it but I have no idea where he took it or what happened.

    ^ sorry guys...!! the guy figure out the thermostat was put in backward, but the radiator fans suddenly dont kick on !! but i sure it kicked on like 3 days ago randomly...IM SORRY guys i should have brought it in to the dealership !!! is it the sensor problem?? or the reply fuses?

    We don't know. We can't answer questions on a car that most of us have never seen in person, let alone dug into the wiring. You are going to have to get it checked out, whether at a dealership or another repair shop. You don't have to apologize to us, it's your car.

    one of my boss' friend is a mechanic who has a master degree and people said he is good, so i thought i could have him check out my car. he figured out the thermostat problem, but i dont know if he notice the fans issue or not

    well if it was installed backward I do apologise... seemed to be fitted with the flow of coolam]nt if I remember.. but... like I said when you are working on somehting and getting 100 questions asked it can distract you... I hope you get this thing figured out, as every other day you seem to have a new issue with the car.... I am sorry that you have had such bad luck with this car... so the fans are still NOT coming on??? htought htey did then dont

    its ok Nathan i shouldnt ask u question lol..yea...the fans werent on since the day u found out till like 3 days ago....i brought it into the mod shop, somehow both of the fans were on at normal temp. and today , the fans are not working at all again .....and the ext temp gauge is working fine now, no bouncing like crazy
