I just picked up an accessport for my 02 WRX and I just had a few quick questions to make sure I am doing everything right.

First I loaded Stage 1 As my base map, then I loaded Stage 1 as my real time map, (because I have been playing with valet mode etc). At first I did not notice any gains. Then a few minutes later i could tell a little bit of a difference. Throughout the day i noticed my turbo spooling up quicker and at lower RPM as well as the PSI increasing overall. I have heard that the car has to "learn" the new map and that it takes about a week or two before i will reach target boost etc. I was wondering what other peoples experience is with this learning period. Also, I was wondering if there is any special way i should drive the car while it is "learning". My last question would be, if i switch the real time map to the economy mode every now and then, does the car have to re-learn stage one? or how does that work. Thanks guys!

You should look up the vishnu reset, when you flashed it you lost all the iam gain your car tuned in, that's where most of the felt power is going to come from when it gets back up to 16, you should pick up full power over time maybe a week or so, or find out how to do the reset and pick up most of that power instantly. Search nasioc, for the reset it's on there, Im not 100% sure I spelt vishnu correctly too, keep that in mind.

Do the real time maps that you flash reset this number also?

No, and your dam should be fully advanced in less than 1/4 mile. What you want to do is hold 3-4 psi of boost and the dam will shoot right up to 16. The you will have full timing advance. After that it is a matter of the ecu learning the fuel trims. Your car should be ready to go in less than 1/2 mile.

So drive my car at a constant 3-4 psi for like a 1/4 mile?? Then just drive normal until the rest of the stuff is learned?

Or I can just drive normally for a week right? Lol, i thought this wan gonna be simpler.

Just do a partial throttle (like 10-15%) pull in 3rd gear. That always worked for me when I was running the Cobb maps.

Basically just normal city driving will ramp up the IAM pretty quickly.

There isn't anything for the ecu to learn other than the timing. Once you do a little 1/4 mile run (3-4 psi) and your dam is fully advanced, that is it. There is no learning that is really going on. You fuel trims ALWAYS change. So that is never set in stone, so don't worry about it. The only thing that is going to give you more power is when the dam is fully advanced, so as long as you are not knocking you can make it fully advanced in less than 1/4 mile.
