    Hey all,

I'm just about done installing a Prosport boost gauge and I want to make sure I do this right. The car is an 02 WRX...

I need to tap into a vaccuum line, which one would you suggest?

The wiring diagram calls for two wires to connect to the IGNITION switch, where is that switch, or do I tap into a wire under the dash?

Last wire is supossed to tap into ACC(essory?). Is this like the radio switch or cig lighter or something?

    Thank you!!!!!

I'm not really familiar with installing a boost gauge, but generally the ignition switch runs off the main wire bundle coming out from under the steering wheel. (you'll have to get on your back on the floor mat and look up) The Acc wire should be in the same wiring harness. Maybe someone who knows WRX wiring specifically can tell you where. If not, the best way is to get out your multimeter and test each of the different wires...The Ignition wire will light up 12v when you turn the key to the "on" position and the ACC will light 12v when you turn the key to the "ACC" position.

If all of this is a little too complicated you can pull the same wires from behind your stereo...and those should be labeled...just make sure the main posi power comes from an independent scource.

Good luck!! PM me if you need anymore info.

    Picked up the ACC there,

    Is "LIG" considered Ignition?

I could be wrong but I thought my stock gauge (sold it so can't check) tapped off the BOV line with a t-fitting.

I hooked into a grey vaccuum line that stemmed off the intake plenum, post filter.

The gauge works, but the wire colors that I got are different from those shown in the wiring diagram, so I will E-mail prosport and figure out what's up. It goes through the warm up cycle, then slowly goes up to max boost even with the car off, so the sending unit is telling it to do something wrong.

Thanks everyone for all the help!!! I greatly appreciate it.

Kinda OT but you have the maddads too right? Whatd you use the radio harness for? Our clock should have ign, acc, ilum, and ground. Just curious

Pro Sport has some weird wiring stuff. I wired the electric boost guage into Yia's waggie and it was a funkie setup. My AutoMeter Sport Comp one was much simplier. 2 wires for ground and power, the other two for light; +, - (hooked up to my dash lights so I can dime them).

I have a co-worker here getting a wiring diagram for me today, but can any of you guys tell me what color wires I'm looking for?

    02 WRX - Ignition switch 12V(+)

I think that is my only problem now. I hooked up to the constant power at the clock, ran a wire down near the cruise and fog buttons, threw a switch on there, and hooked up the back side of the switch to the two wires that were supossed to go to the Ivnition switch.

you should tap for vaccum right into the BOV line. For the OEM guage there is a green plug right by the cigarrette lighter under the cd player. the oem guage plugs right into it, so you can tap into those wires for sure and everything should work, even the dimmer.

Yup, I do. I can't remember which lines I pulled from where, but I used both. As I didn't have a subie wiring manual on hand, I used a scoobymods tutorial, and that is what it recommended. Couldn't find a copy in the quick search I just did, though. :dunno:

I hook up my MAIN power for the guage to my main relay wire pin as well as ground. I just pull the pin out of the brown plug (pick at the inner clip w/ something sharp) and then wrap the wire onto the pin, then stick it back into the plug.

The vaccuum line that heads from the BOV out toward the drivers side of the car, and heads down toward the wheel? I looked at that place first, but it looked a bit tough to get to. I will investigate it further.

Regarding that green plug, do I have to take off quite a bit of plastic to get to it, or is it fairly accessable?

    Thanks!

Dude, do you have a multimeter? If you don't...go buy one. They are the handiest wiring tool ever. Using one correctly can answer a lot of your questions.

    Good luck with the wiring!

You can also tap boost at the check valve on the front of the manifold.

The manual calls for tapping the bpv line a couple inches off the valve. If you don't want to cut it then just get a couple inches of vacuum hose and tee it directly off the valve

The looks to be pre-turbo to me. That is the turbo inlet pipe. IYou should not be reading boost there at all. Post 21 is the factory location to tap from.

Right on, thank you ALL for ALL of the help!

I moved the air T location to where it should be, and got all of my wiring issues worked out. I diagnosed the problem and found out that the sending unit that I have is shot, so Prosport has another one (along with a mounting cup) on the way to me already - which is pretty cool.

So it turns out that I had it wired correctly, it just wasn't working properly.

Thanks again, the help and advice is GREATLY appreciated.
