On my way home from chicago i was obviosly really stoked to open the STI up and see what it had. I drove for a while then when i found a good spot i got into it in 6th. I was boosting about 26 psi like jorge had set it for and when it was on the dyno it seemed to be doing ok. But anyhow on the highway i got into it and it started to pull like crazy!! boosting good then all of a sudden it just when uhh and stopped so i let off. i threw the CEL and i pulled into a rest area and checked it it was P0244 (Wastegate control solenoid valve malfuntion (high imput)) just wondering what would cause this if it is a bad wastegate or what?? becuase on the dyno charts it goes all the way to 7K and i know it didn't go that far. THnaks guys just went out with my roommate to show him the car and it did it again i was in 4th or 5th and it happened around 6K
You overboosted and hit fuel cut. That will cause a CEL. Tell Jorge to fix your tune and to start following up with road tunes after a dyno session.
its NOT overboosting at 26psi tbone if Jorge set it to run 26psi... thats what he stated in his post...
He probably hit like 30psi and the ecu pulled in the reigns. There are two different tables that tell you when things are going wrong. The first one will just throw a CEL at a set psi, and the other one will actually cut fuel at a set psi. Either the car overboosted, or Jorge set the limits too close to target boost. Is it even possible to accurately read your boost gauge when boosting that high?!? lmao! That thing must give you tunnel vision from the 500g acceleration!
Sounds like we need the same setup again, this time with a control group. Dream and KSAL have the same builder, tuner, parts, problems...Someone needs to do the same setup again this time change something though.
I would sugest you set your DTEC to your low boost map. Then make a pull and note the amount of boost you get on that pull. If you boost past the target set on the DTEC then we should look at the Tial for sticking issues.
