Went to the rallycross today, didn't have much time to shoot pics since I was either working or driving but I managed to get a few. I ended up 6th overall but 3rd in my class since I as up against the only real really car (well really a rally truck I guess) there and both its drivers beat me. Here's mine...mostly Saabs...sorry! I will post video tomorrow, but it appears like my work camera took a crap and didn't record anything, which really pisses me off. Because we had some good in car shots of the Saab's getting ****ty sideways. On to the pics, none are "action" shots (because I thought the video was working).
Looked like a great time. Last time I entered, J. Cox killed me also (me = 4th overall and 2nd in 4wd rally modified class). Good times, indeed.
what kind of fog lights, and plastic pieces are on that silver 523? they look bigger than the usual ones... nice!
Wish I could have gone too, doctor told the wife to stay home so I guess that ment me as well. Just remember to be careful when you post pictures of your car (with a visable licence plate). Im sure all of the dealer guys in here are cool but some of the regional/SOA people are not. Dan
Red card for Saab fotos. I don't care if they're fast, they're Saabs and this is a Suby site, Saabarus be damned.
Sorry. Just figured you would want to see some pictures of the car that beat most of the subies. Someone should make a disclaimer that no other cars besides subies are allowed on this site. I will talk to Zac and see if he can delete the Lotus thread, the crotch rocket threads, etc. Everyone's cooperation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Soupboy for brining this to everyone's attention!
Some time in spring. They usually post them on multiple forums. This one was posted on here a month or so ago.
Typically we do one early in the year, like Feb, that's on snow (that didn't happen this year), and then start in earnest in April with one roughly each month through November. The planning for next season will happen early in January, most likely, so more information will be available after that.
I always thought there would be rougher terrain at this event. Is the whole course pretty much flat? Any potential clearance isuues anywhere? I kinda wish I would have went now.
You cannot void a warranty for a car based on anything however a dealership can refuse to fix something based you you breaking it during a motorsports activity. That being said there are about a million pictures of my car on the internet autocrossing that I just can't make disappear so I don't really mind.
If you aren't driving smart there are plenty of ways you can damage your car. If you can keep your head screwed on straight and drive sane its not so much of an issue. I didn't think there was anything too unsafe out there except for if someone was far off line, overdriving or late braking.
yeah my suspension rattled more on the highway on the way over than it did driving the course. It was quiet compared to tarmac because there was no tire noise. The larger clumps in the outer pats did drag on my mud flaps, but that was about it. Car is filthy today, needs a good cleaning.
Dan knows what he's talking about here. SoA has refused to honor their warranty based on participation in motorsports proven by pictures on the internet. Not might, has.
You can't void a warranty. It's illegal. However, you can refuse to service a vehicle at an individual dealership. From what I understand.
Regardless of the legality, Subaru of America (not an individual dealership) has done it. Legality only matters if you have the means and will to take them to court over it.
And i have read the Magnuson-Moss act as well as other warranty related court appeals and whoever got his warranty canceled fell for some gigantic BS. sound to me more like what happened is what I described earlier, that something broke, he asked for it to be fixed and they said no, then provided the rally pics. Refused to honor a warranty for a certain claim is not the same as "your warranty will be completely void."
I gotta stop hitting cones. I think that hurt me the most. My bro has the camcorder, so I have to wait on him for getting the vids off of it.
