Sweet pics. The #690 car was in a pretty bad wreck a while back -- my friend's brother rebuilt the entire thing.

Here's some of my pics. The parking was more spread out this year, so I don't have any nice group shots of mnsubaru cars.

We did have a nice group of people there until about 9:30. Thanks to Russ for getting the grill going again and cooking some food so people could eat and stick around. Apparently Brian only knows how to put out fires, not start them. :D;)

Thanks again to BP subaru for hosting this. I should have thought of more parts that I could have ordered.

I heard rumours that it's actually an '02 with an '04-'05 nose job, which would make it a WRX. Numbers well north of $100,000 were being bandied about.

I loved the fact that he drove it home from the event. The other two went home on trailers. Sissies !

At this level of modification, I suspect the whole WRX/STi argument is moot. It's probably an '02 shell with STi underpinnings and a massive number of mods many of us don't even realise are possible.

    Ding ding ding ding ding!

    You have the correct answer!

I've heard numbers much larger than $100k. I think the shell alone runs about that.

This is a picture from last year, but I think it is the same car.

V-mount, 2.35L, high compression (for a turbo motor at least), and a turbo that spools right f'n now for massive torque down low, along with anti-lag. Max HP probably isn't much over 300 (34mm restrictor on the turbo inlet), but the torque is phenominal. I can't recall the spec on how fast it could do 0-60 on gravel was, but it was an impressive number.

I was told by the guys there that it started life as an '02 but has had so many modifications done to it that they even have to call it an '04 now. So yeah, WRX or STI doesn't matter - it's a rally car and it's awesome.

it actually started life as an 02 2.5rs.... Then got shoved into a container, and put on a ship bound for Britain and prodrive's home office :)
